Hello, Hivers. Within the bands, groups or ensembles have always drawn attention to instruments with high frequencies, such as violin or guitar, which generally are the most striking instruments, but in this section of my blog, I will focus mostly on great bassists famous for their career or those new talents of these new times. The electric bass usually is not a very striking instrument for many, besides the great rockstars are always the guitarists or vocalists, but although it may not seem so, the bass and the bassist play an extremely important role, where in many cases the central axis of the musical themes is carried by the bass and usually those who create the bands are the bassists or are the producers. In the 80's and 90's there was a band that for years was well positioned in the alternative rock and this bassist was part of it since its inception she is "D'arcy Wretzky" and the band to which she belonged was the very famous "Smashing Pumpkins". Wretzky, is a somewhat eccentric bassist and full of controversy for some of her performances and apart from this, she is a bassist that in consideration for the grunge and alternative movement was in the best time of the band.

Dentro de las bandas, agrupaciones o ensambles siempre han llamado la atención los instrumentos con frecuencias altas, como el violín o la guitarra, que por lo general son los instrumentos más llamativos, pero en esta sección de mi blog, me centraré en su gran mayoría en grandes bajistas famosos por su trayectoria o esos nuevos talentos de estos nuevos tiempos. El bajo eléctrico por lo general no es un instrumento muy llamativo para muchos, además los grandes rockstar siempre son los guitarristas o vocalistas, pero aunque no lo parezca, el bajo y el bajista juegan un rol sumamente importante, donde en muchos casos el eje central de los temas musicales lo lleva el bajo y por lo general quienes crean las bandas son los bajistas o son los productores. En los 80´s y 90´s existió una banda que por años estuvo bien posicionada en el rock alternativo y esta bajista formó parte desde sus inicios ella es “D'arcy Wretzky” y la banda a la cual pertenecía era la muy famosa “Smashing Pumpkins”. Wretzky, es una bajista un tanto excéntrica y llena de polémica por algunas de sus actuaciones y apartando esto, es una bajista que en consideración por la movida grunge y alternativa estuvo en la mejor época de la banda.
MUSICAL HISTORY
"D'arcy Wretzky was born in michigan in 1968 and since 1988 she was a founder member of the "Smashing Pumpkins", she started in the world of music in her adolescence, learning to play the guitar and then motivated by the need of a bass player in one of her first bands before Pumpkins, she started to play the electric bass. After a presentation in a local bar she is contacted by Billy Corgan, vocalist and lead singer of the future band Smashing Pumpkins, who motivates her to create this band and it is here when they take the first steps in the creation of the project that for many years was one of the most listened in the United States and Europe of alternative rock. Despite being very well positioned as bassist in the early 2000's she leaves the band that since then began to have several problems and dissolved, leaving Wretzky of it and only meeting occasionally until 2017 when a reunion of the band was foreseen and this alleges that if the conditions were given would return to be part of it, although it has not materialized since so far the band has gone through several bassists.
“D'arcy Wretzky” nace en michigan en el año 1968 y desde el año 88 formó parte como fundadora de los “Smashing Pumpkins”, inicia en el mundo de la música en su adolescencia, aprendiendo a tocar la guitarra para luego motivada por la necesidad de un bajista en una de sus primeras bandas antes de Pumpkins, empezó a tocar el bajo eléctrico. Luego de una presentación en un bar local es contactada por Billy Corgan vocalista y voz principal de la futura banda Smashing Pumpkins, quien la motiva a crear esta banda y es acá cuando dan los primeros pasos en la creación del proyecto que por muchos años fue una de las más escuchadas en los estados unidos y europa del rock alternativo. A pesar de estar muy bien posicionada como bajista a principios de los 2000´s abandona la banda que desde entonces empezó a tener varios problemas y se disolvieron, saliendo Wretzky de ella y solo reuniéndose ocasionalmente hasta 2017 cuando se preveía una reunión de la banda y esta alega que si las condiciones estaban dadas volvería a formar parte de ella, aunque no se ha concretado ya que hasta ahora la banda ha pasado por varias bajistas.

Her technique is closely linked to grunge and alternative, using the pick to play the electric bass. Despite not being well known for her virtuosity as a bass player, she has always had what it takes to create bass lines in the production of the band's songs. In her solo projects, Wretzky has maintained a very solid style and considering that she has not played on stage for a long time, she has a very good technique and style.
Su técnica es muy ligada al grunge y alternativo, usando la púa para tocar el bajo eléctrico. A pesar de no ser muy conocida por su virtuosismo como bajista, siempre ha tenido lo necesario para crear líneas de bajo en la producción de los temas de la banda. En sus proyectos como solista Wretzky, ha mantenido un estilo muy sólido y considerando que ha pasado mucho tiempo sin tocar en escenarios tiene muy buena técnica y estilo.
