Howdy, Hivers. On many occasions I have covered several bands with my electric bass and as a bass player, I have been asked which are the best bass players or the best known of the bands to which I do these reviews and covers, in this was born the idea of also talk a little of the member of the bands that may be ignored, which are the bass players; but although it seems arrogant to say it and more by a bass player himself, the bass plays an extremely important role in any group for the harmonic and melodic importance it represents. Considered one of the fastest bassists in the Heavy Metal genre, “Steve Harris” is known for being the founder and bassist of “Iron Maiden” possessing incredible versatility, speed and perfect execution of the electric bass. He is the lead songwriter and leader of Iron Maiden born in 1956 in England and possesses one of the most powerful styles live as a performer without ever wasting time or the bass line. Initially Harris, was a sports-loving soccer player, but due to an injury suffered at an early age and the huge number of applicants, he dedicated himself to music, buying a Fender precision imitation bass, thus starting his career as a musician and his project of music.

En muchas ocasiones he realizado cover de diversas bandas con mi bajo eléctrico y como bajista, me han preguntado cuales son los mejores bajistas o los más conocidos de las bandas al cual les hago estas reseñas y covers, en esto nace la idea de también hablarles un poco del miembro de las bandas que tal vez sea ignorado, que son los bajistas; pero aunque parezca arrogante decirlo y más por un propio bajista, el bajo juega un rol sumamente importante en cualquier agrupación por la importancia armónica y melódica que representa. Considerado como uno de los más veloces bajistas del género Heavy Metal, “Steve Harris” es conocido por ser el fundador y bajista de “Iron Maiden” poseedor de una increíble versatilidad, velocidad y ejecución perfecta del bajo eléctrico. Es compositor principal y líder de Iron Maiden nacido en 1956, en Inglaterra y posee uno de los estilos más poderosos en vivo como ejecutante sin perder jamás el tiempo o la línea de bajo. Inicialmente Harris, era jugador de fútbol amante del deporte, pero debido a una lesión sufrida a temprana edad y la enorme cantidad de aspirantes, se dedicó a la música, comprando un bajo Fender precision imitación, iniciando así su carrera como músico y su proyecto de música.
MUSICAL HISTORY
Harris, finding himself in the need to follow his dreams, signs his first contract with EMI after a great effort, this leads him to perform several small concerts leaving a good taste in the mouth of various businessmen and their audience, leading to "Iron Maiden" on a path of success. Little by little Harris, was creating more songs, where he is the main composer and most of his lyrics are inspired by mythological stories and books that he has read. Many were the producers who passed through this band, where Harris was saying goodbye for his creative ideas and one of them was even fired because he insisted that he play with a pick, which he disliked a lot. Harris has been dedicated to his project to the point of currently having a gigantic company called Iron Maiden, who even own their own line of clothing, instruments and even own an airplane.
Harris, viéndose en la necesidad de seguir sus sueños, firma su primer contrato con EMI luego de un gran esfuerzo, esto lo lleva a realizar varios pequeños conciertos dejando un buen sabor de boca en varios empresarios y su público, llevando a “Iron Maiden” por un camino de éxito. Poco a poco Harris, fue creando más canciones, donde él es el compositor principal y la mayoría de sus letras están inspiradas en historias mitológicas y de libros que ha leído. Muchos fueron os productores que pasaron por esta banda, donde Harris iba despidiendo por sus ideas creativas e incluso uno de ellos fue despedido debido a que insistía que tocara con púa, cosa que le disgustaba mucho. Harris ha estado dedicado a su proyecto al punto de actualmente tener una empresa gigantesca llamada iron Maiden, que hasta poseen su propia línea de ropa, instrumentos y hasta poseen un avión.

When it comes to techniques, Harris has incredible speed, he also uses his bass with a lot of gain, this causing a distortion of the bass when he plays hard and when hitting the strings to the bass pickups, this performs a very particular effect that with the Time was awarded the name of Harris effect. He really is an incredible bassist who throughout the years has been an inspiration to us, as was the mythical Jaco Pastorius for him.
Cuando de técnicas se trata, Harris posee una increíble velocidad, además usa su bajo con bastante ganancia, esto provocando una distorsión del bajo cuando toca con fuerza y al golpear las cuerdas a las pastillas del bajo, este realiza un efecto muy particular que con el tiempo se le adjudicó el nombre de efecto Harris. Realmente es un bajista increíble que a lo largo de los años nos ha sido de inspiración asi como lo fue para él el mitico Jaco Pastorius.
