Howdy, Hivers. I have always talked about great bass players and I have done many covers of great artists and analyzed a little the bass lines of each song, but today I want to start talking a little about the protagonists of this post, which is the electric bass itself and I will start with the one that was the first as commercial success, even so it was not the first electric bass created, this bass is the "Fender Precision bass" the bass that by far is the most sought after by the best bass players and although they are not the most used they own even if it is one of them. Every bass player knows the quality of this bass besides having been created by "Leo Fender" who took this adaptation of the double bass to a much more comfortable version to play and transport. He also gave it a style very similar to the electric guitar, which at the beginning was a bit confusing, but with time it adapted to this new image.

Siempre le he hablado de grandes bajistas y he realizado muchos covers de grandes artistas y analizado un poco las líneas de bajo de cada canción, pero el día de hoy quiero empezar ca hablarles un poco de los protagonistas de estos post, que es el propio bajo eléctrico y empezaré con el que fue el primero como éxito comercial, aun así no fue el primer bajo eléctrico creado, este bajo es el “Fender Precision bass” el bajo que por lejos es el más cotizado por los mejores bajistas y aunque no sean el que más usen poseen aunque sea uno de ellos. Todo bajista sabe la calidad de este bajo además de haber sido creado por “Leo Fender” quien llevó esta adaptación del contrabajo a una versión mucho más cómoda de tocar y transportar. Además le dio un estilo muy parecido a la guitarra eléctrica, que en el principio se confundía un poco, pero con el tiempo se fue adaptando a esta nueva imagen.
HISTORY
The history of the creation of an electric bass is motivated by the difficulty that existed to transport the bass and even in many occasions to amplify its sound generated certain inconveniences, sometimes the sound of the bass was discarded because of amplification problems. It is here where Paul Tutmarc in the decade of the 30's, brought the idea of the electric bass and created a model, but it was Leo Fender who in 1951 brought the idea of the "Fender Precision Bass" being finally a commercial success and it is here where a great era of the electric bass begins. This idea came with a design very similar to that of the electric guitar, giving the bass an aggressive sound, much more defined and presence, with this the bass players had the opportunity to own an instrument much more comfortable to carry and play, in this way it became popular and until now has been one of the most sought after and imitated in the market.
La historia de la creación de un bajo Eléctrico viene motivada a la dificultad que existía para transportar el contrabajo e incluso en muchas ocasiones para amplificar su sonido generaba ciertas incomodidades, a veces se descarta el sonido del bajo por problemas de amplificación. Es acá donde Paul Tutmarc en la década de los 30´s, trajo la idea del bajo eléctrico y creó un modelo, pero fue leo Fender quien el 1951 trajo la idea del “Fender Precision Bass” siendo por fin un éxito comercial y es acá donde empieza una gran era del bajo eléctrico. Esta idea vino con un diseño muy parecido al de la guitarra eléctrica, dándole al bajo un sonido agresivo, mucho más definido y presencia, con esto los contrabajistas tuvieron la oportunidad de poseer un instrumento mucho más cómodo de transportar y de tocar, de esta forma se popularizó y hasta ahora ha sido uno de los más buscados e imitados del mercado.
1. Specifications by Fender Precision Bass.
Its design comes from what was the Telecaster guitar which was the newest design of Leo Fender and from here it was created, looking for better shape and less weight they used maple and alder wood, achieving better weight. The frets were added to make it much easier and like to play and its electronics is of coil type pickups picking up the sound emitted from the strings, also the same tuning of the double bass was kept to make it like a kind of new version of the double bass.
Su diseño viene de lo que fue la guitarra Telecaster que era el diseño más nuevo de leo Fender y a partir de acá fue creado, buscando mejor forma y menor peso usaron madera de arce y aliso, logrando mejor peso. Se le agregaron los trastes para hacerlo mucho más fácil y como de tocar y su electrónica es de pastillas tipo bobina recogiendo el sonido emitido de las cuerdas, además se mantuvo la misma afinación del contrabajo para hacerlo como una especie de nueva versión del contrabajo.
