MUSIC A to Z Challenge #X: Xpansions and X-Ray Specs.

Here is my entry for @psos  A-Z music challenge, today i'm on bands or songs starting with the letter X.

It's been a couple of days sporadic internet here for me so i'm gonna blast this out as quick as possible in the hope all goes well.

In 1990 I was enjoying my raving days and one tune that was super popular at the time was "move your body" by Expansions, this was a bit of a one hit wonder for DJ Phil Drummond. I know nothing about him and have to admit that today when I hear this track I sort of cringe a little, it's naf but had it's place at the time.

This band were visually interesting to me as a youngster getting into punk music and even more off the wall to listen to. Around for 3 years between 1976 and 1979 they didn't produce much material only 5 singles and 1 album in all that time. Never the less their first single "Oh bondage up yours" is considered by many to be one of the best classic punk records. By the time they released their first album lead singer Poly Styrene had left the band which fizzled out a short while after her departure. I'll never forget the first time I saw this weird but cool band on the TV many moons ago and have always had a thing for this strange tune.
