My Actifit Report Card and Update: June 8 2021

Hi Actifitters,

I hope everyone had a great weekend and week so far. Summer seems to be here now. The weather has been nice. Warm temperatures and very little rain has provided quite a few opportunities to get and about. Covid-19 restrictions have been relaxed as well, which makes getting around easier. My recommendation is get out and enjoy life as much as you can right now. I also recommend spending time with people you care about and making the most of that time with them.

My Content

Perfection_Video_Thumb.jpg

I put out 2 videos since my previous Actifit Report and Update. Both these videos were based on written posts from about a year ago. In the first video, I explored my ideas about perfection. I do not like perfection. It symbolises stagnation as incentive to change is lost. It also robs us of our identity, character, and what makes us unique. Our flaws also gives value to other people who are able to add value to our lives by helping us fulfil a need or want. Likewise, we can add value to other people's lives with our skills, talents, and expertise.

In the second video, I revisted my discussion on how perception shapes our lives and the lives of those around us. I reused the title ['Power, Money, and Me Me Me' as I wanted the video to be closely linked to the written post as the key points of the video closely follow those of the written post. Our perception influences everything in our lives. It influences what we want in life, how we going about achieving it, and what we are willing to sacrifice to get it. I would argue this concept applies to everyone. People help each other because they perceive there is value in doing so. Likewise, people hurt each other people if they value what get in return more than they value what other people loss from the harm they cause. Many of these processes do not work in an open conscious manner but instead our actions are supported by our underlying perceptions of reality and ourselves.

The video also explores pursuits of monetary wealth and power. People who obtain wealth obtain it because they strongly desire it. They desire it more than other people and relatively more than other things in life. The same can be said for power. Monetary wealth is often a vehicle for obtaining power. The wealthy and powerul are able to help each other obtain want they want. Hence, this will almost always result in power hungry people obtaining power. They will remain focused on maintaining power or even expanding on that power.

Upcoming Content

7WEEK_ECON_THUMB.jpg

I am currently writing a post about an upcoming series of contests. The series will contain 7 contests. These contests will be focused on economics and will be a little similar to the 6-week challenge series I ran in 2018. The prizes will better than what I am currently giving out for the Buying and Selling Game. The two types of Buying and Selling Games will be included in the series. I strongly recommend that you take a look at these contests. There is a good sample size to explore.

That wraps up this Actifit Report and Update. I will be back in about a week with more updates and probably a description of my physical activities.

Good afternoon my friend, I missed your content about perfection. While I don't think we should strive for perfection because its virtually unobtainable we should probably just aim to do better, doing better probably improves on our personality rather than totally changing it. In a bid to get perfect a lot of people loses their identity and I agree with you on the fact that our flaws aren't generally bad in all ramification. I'll probably go back to back it.
It's been raining cats and dogs too and it's been difficult for me to go for classes. I guess you're enjoying the weather change and all. Cheers.

The perfection video is mostly about criticizing the idea of perfection. Perfection in itself would be impossible to achieve as we can't fully understand what it actually is in the first place.

The weather has been good here recently. It doesn't normally last long. It's actually starting to rain a little right now.

I couldn't agree more with your notion of perfection. An exercise in futility. Striving to be a better person I totally agree with and is obtainable. Flaws and imperfections are where all the interesting traits are found in my opinion. Have a great day.
