Making Biochar - MARC #452

We had a lot of dry sticks and branches in our garden and I decide to make biochar. We did a lot of walking until we collect everything

Recently I read about it and it's become an interesting topic saw a few videos on youtube and yesterday was turn to clean the yard.

First, I dig a hole in the ground prepare big and small wood sticks and some other coarse grasses that cannot be composted quickly. I filled a can with water and put the hose close in case I needed it. I didn't use it until the end when I had to put out the fire.

Then with @vesytz help start burning.

The idea is as follows: put some material on the hole and before the wood start to become ash put more material on the top and so on until it's ending.

Then watered a lot. After a day when the water is drained gather two big buckets.

I think I succeeded. Now I have a good soil conditioner which I hope to help us in the garden.
