Farmer's market purchases, plus Long run (My Actifit Report Card: March 7 2020)

I went for a 19.13 kms run first thing this morning, slightly further than my run from two weeks ago! My training has slipped lately. Hopefully I can motivate myself to get back into the mid-week runs again next week!

We headed out to the local Farmer's market at around midday. We have done this most weekends since our Tasmania trip at the beginning of the year. The thing that inspired mrshill and I to do this was our goal in 2020 to buy less stuff in plastic! None of our fruit and vegetables from the markets come in plastic. Yay! Plus we get to support the local farmers and the stuff we buy is in season. We also usually buy local cheeses from a new cheese shop - unfortunately in plastic, hard to get around it, but they are farmhouse cheeses, meaning the cheesemakers raise the livestock that yields the milks so in theory it's more eco-friendly (the milk doesn't travel far!) than the supermarket stuff (and tastier) (and more expensive - sigh). We have started making soft cheeses at home a lot more too!

Here's what we scored from the market today. We've already planned our week's meals based around these fruit and veg.

We went out for dinner tonight at a local Japanese restaurant. mrshill and I couldn’t remember the last time just the two of us went out for dinner (except for on holiday). We decided we should do it more often - perhaps once a month.
