We played a round of eighteen basket disc golf at the local favorite course and met a friend who joined up for the round. I scored at a +4 and was the middle score of the three of us.

My son has been really playing well and won the round.

I've been doing some more research on crypto and checking out Algrorand among other things.

Unrealized Capital Gains

It seems like the crypto markets had a bit of a hiccup recently, after certain statements were made about possibly taxing unrealized capital gains. Hopeful that is i just a bad unsubstantiated urban legend, lol. It kind of reminds me of a quote from a movie, "stupid is as stupid does."

But just as I thought experiment, I wonder just what a tax policy might come to...

Hide your chickens

A taxman talking to a farmer said, "I see you have a dozen chickens there, any roster?"

"Nope no rooster," said farmer Rainbow.

"Then what was that noise I heard on the way in?" asked Taxman.

Rainbow replied, "That was the neighbors rooster."

"Well you can't prove that rooster won't get to your chickens so I'm going to assume that some of those eggs are going to be raised for McNugs. Thus you be taxed at the higher rate for unrealized capital gains on your egg production."

Later that day...

"Mr Taxman, coons got in the henhouse all my chickens are gone," said Rainbow.

"You can't prove that, I just saw them this morning," said Taxman.

"No seriously, it's a blood bath in the henhouse, you don't want to go in there, besides I lost my PRIVATE KEYS to the crypto, I mean henhouse."

"Well you can file form 1099rl for that, it's really not my problem and it's terribly difficult to prove you don't have something. What if one of the racoons bring a chicken back out of goodwill? As far as I'm concerned you owe this tax."

"What's 1099rl?" asked Brown.

"Miscellaneous Racoon Loss."
