Yep that's another job sorted 👍. Yes the long tops are for a rubber seal to fit over the spark plug. Then the spark plug lead fits on top. This is to stop air coming out around the spark plug as it's an air cooled engine.
Ah ok, that makes sense. I was only thinking about air-cooled engines yesterday for some reason...I can't recall why. I had several VW's and remember having to pull over a few times on very hot days as traffic wasn't moving and things were getting hot.
