Sunday! 😇…….My Actifit Report Card: October 18 2026
Happy and blessed Sunday everybody! 😇
Church was first for the day. When we left home, the temperature on the dash read 41F but as we got to the valley below, it bottomed out at 36F with frost on the ground and the roofs of buildings! 🥶 The valley’s first frost for the season. We are always a little warmer a little longer in the fall as we’re in a protected area in the foothills, and in the spring, the opposite is true. Colder longer than the valley.
Church was awesome as usual and soon found us heading for home. We both absorbed some morning sun and then I went inside to do some housework. I also set up to roast coffee as we were low. Otherwise, not much going on here.
I’ve got some more pictures from yesterday’s ‘shroom extravaganza as well as a new one. Enjoy!
Well, that’s gonna be it for me. Tomorrow morning will be a tad warmer for our Monday hot tub dunk, but still pretty chilly. Should be nice though! 😎

When I saw this post, I couldn't avoid but be stunned by the first photo. It automatically sparked a reflection, or rather, a yearning, that I'd like to share:
Sometimes I think that what we really need isn't to reach a destination, but simply to find a road like this one and never have to get off it.
There's something about the symmetry of that yellow line fading into the horizon that invites me to pause and reflect. I'd like to drive along it without looking at the clock, letting the silence of the asphalt and that golden yellow of the trees help me sort out my thoughts. I'm not looking for a route; I'm looking to truly get lost, to leave behind the noise, the rush, and that habit of needing to have everything under control.
I'd like to feel that the road is endless, that the fresh air of the pines clears my mind, and that, for a moment, the only purpose of the day is simply to keep moving forward and let myself be enveloped by the calm of nature. It's a very personal wish of mine: to find in this landscape that silent refuge where there is nothing to prove and where time, at last, seems to stand still.
I wonder how a simple photo can carry such a powerful weight and lead to such complex feelings. I appreciate that you shared your post, and that I'm able to appreciate it this way.
There are many roads like this one where I live. You are correct in that it's a lovely way to reflect and discern while maybe going nowhere specific. Fall is a beautiful time here, although there are some who view it in a dismal light because of the falling of the leaves; a touch of 'death' if you will. I find it as a last hoorah before sleep, only to be awakened in the spring and do it all over again the following fall. Nature is for exactly as you described it;
