My Actifit Report Card: August 4 2020

Hey everybody and thanks for stopping by!

Have you ever had a day that totally did not turn out as you planned? Well, today was that day. Being Tuesday, we were going to Zoom for our ladies Bible study’s, which we did. It was awesome. After that, @silvertop and I had plans to go hike the Gold Mine Trail and investigate portions of the trail we didn’t that last time. By the time my Zoom was over and we were finally ready to go after some prep, @silvertop said we really didn’t have time enough left in the day

He has been putting off getting new batteries for our solar electric battery bank. He didn’t want to pay the $175 plus price tag. However, thanks to a search he had done, he discovered that Costco had them for less than $100 each! I called them and they said they had plenty in stock. So we decided to go see.

We haven’t been to Costco for several reasons in quite a few years. They had moved further away from us to an area of town that isn’t really convenient to get to. But go, we did. We purchased a membership and after looking at the batteries, decided to go back next Monday and pick up the dozen we need. Needless to say I found a couple items to purchase so the trip accomplished what we needed.

Upon arriving home, it was a couple of coffees and after a bit, we headed out for a shortened hike. @actifit-lamb was disappointed that we didn’t get the Gold Mine hike done (she was looking for another adventure) but we’ve promised her we will go next week. She was content with that. I found her some nice logs to sit on for her picture.

It’s off to work tomorrow for me and the doc is back so I’m sure we are booked for appointments. 😎 That’s gonna be it for now. Keep on @actifit steppin’! Have a wonderful day! 🤗🥰😎👍👣😁🐑💪☕️😴

Wow, I guess you really achieved much than you initially planned. Happy you and Mike finally got the batteries 🔋 and on discounted price from what was budgeted.

I’m happy to hear that you’re resuming work tomorrow. Here in Nigeria, we that are not into cooperate jobs are somehow finding it difficult with other jobs since this lockdown.

Take care of your family virtuous lady Elizabeth.

I am very blessed that I did not get furloughed from my job during this whole thing. I work 3 days per week, which suits me fine. Occasionally, I might have to work the whole week, but not often. I really love my job. Thank you for stopping by @maxdevalue and have a lovely day!😇🤗

That's a lot of batteries! Are you living off grid or just using the solar as an assisted power supply? Tell @actifit-lamb I'm looking forward to reading about her next adventure.

Hey @gregory-f! We are a 'hybrid' household. The lighting, refrigerator and computers, waterbed, all that kind of stuff run off of solar 24/7. On super sunny total electrical days, we can also run air conditioners, hot water heat pump, larger electrical consumption items. The only thing that stays 24/7 on grid is our well. We started initially with a battery bank as we always lose power in the spring and fall, sometimes for days at a time, and this helped us feel human and also kept us from having to go stay at a motel all of the time. I can't go to work without a shower, lol! Anyway, we don't grid tie as of now. We run a 24V system with 3 computers to control 3 arrays for a total of 6300KW. It seriously cuts down on our electric bill obviously. With these new batteries, almost everything will run on solar 24/7 with the exception of the well. It's pretty awesome! Sorry for the run on, lol! Take care friend, and @actifit-lamb is cooking up a new adventure already. Look for it sometime over the weekend to early next week. Take care friend and have a good night!

Wow! That sounds like a great setup. With the high electric bills of summer rolling in right now, I can honestly say I am very jealous.

If you're handy, you can build it yourself, one panel at a time. That's essentially how we ended up with what we have. Take care and give Brownie a hug for me!

I too have a membership with Costco, but I seldom go there. My next trip there would probably at the end of the year to purchase presents, LOL! It is actually from Costco that I purchase meats, like prime rib, brisket , chicken, salmon, quantity wines, and cheeses.
Have a great day at work, my sweet sis @elizabethbit. Take care 🥰🌺🤙, lots of love and hugs💕😘🤗

Up until the need for the batteries, we had lived without Costco for a few years. I like to see what they have that would work for whatever we're doing or needing, so it will have it's benefits. Plus, it's already paid for the membership with the low cost of the batteries. Those would have run around $175 each elsewhere! Take care my sweet sis and have a lovely evening!🤗🤗😘💕🌸
