Good morning friends,

I actually bought a fitness tracker because I want to track the distance and path I swim.
Yesterday I tried this for the first time. It dutifully recognized at least part of the time I was in the water ,as swimming. After a few hundred meters, however, he has switched off. Maybe I didn't use my arms for swimming at that time or I was too deep for a short time and he lost the GPS signal. But it didn't record a single meter of the route. And that was the whole point of the purchase. I was going to use the tracker to record my route on the reef and supplement it with pictures of reef life, just like I have been doing with my walks.
Maybe it was just a rookie mistake.

The Spanish language is much more honest than the German, I realized last night.

I noticed that from the wife "esposa" to the handcuff "esposar" only one more letter is needed.

The main beach of Sosua is not only a quiet bay, due to its location somewhat protected from the big waves from the Atlantic. Behind the strip of sand is a mile-long string of bars, restaurants and stores.
This tourist trap is even bigger than than the main street of the place.
So far, I've always walked back along the water's edge after swimming across the bay. Maybe I should walk along these stalls and take pictures of strange people. Yesterday I saw the first person with mask in the sea. I thought until now that are fake photos. But they really exist, such people.

Eigentlich habe ich mir einen Fitnesstracker angeschafft, weil ich die Strecke und den Weg, die ich schwimme, tracken möchte.
Gestern habe ich dies das erste mal versucht. Er hat brav zumindest einen Teil der Zeit, die ich im Wasser war ,als Schwimmen erkannt. Nach ein paar hundert Meter hat er allerdings abgeschaltet. Möglicherweise habe ich zu dem Zeitpunkt die Arme nicht zum Schwimmen benutzt oder ich war mal kurz zu tief und er hat das GPS-Signal verloren. Aber die Wegstrecke hat er keinen Meter aufgezeichnet. Und dabei war das der Sinn des Kaufs. Ich wollte den Tracker nutzen, um meine Strecke am Riff aufzeichnen und mit Bildern vom Riffleben ergänzen, so wie ich das schon bei meinen Spaziergängen gemacht habe.
Vielleicht war es nur ein Anfängerfehler.

Die spanische Sprache ist viel ehrlicher als die deutsche, habe ich gestern Nacht festgestellt.

Ehefrau - wife - esposa
fiel mir auf, dass es von der Eherfrau "esposa" bis zur Handschelle "esposar" nur eines einzigen weiteren Buchstaben braucht.

Der Hauptstrand von Sosua ist nicht nur eine ruhige Bucht, durch seine Lage etwas geschützt von den großen Wellen aus dem Atlantik. Hinter dem Sandstreifen befindet sich eine kilometerlange Aneinanderreihung von Bars, Restaurants und Läden.
Diese Touristenfalle ist sogar noch größer als als die Hauptstraße der Ortes.
Bisher bin ich immer an der Wasserkante zurückgegangen, wenn ich die Bucht durchschwommen hatte. Vielleicht sollte ich an diesen Buden entlanggehen und seltsame Leute fotografieren. Gestern habe ich den ersten Menschen mit Maske im Meer gesehen. Ich dachte bisher, dass sind Fakefotos. Aber es gibt sie wirklich, solche Leute.
