My Actifit Report Card: February 21 2020
For today’s morning walk I decided to walk up the path to the top of Skinner Butte. Yesterday I had an interview that I think went fine, but any interview is stressful and I let myself have some ice cream afterwards to ease away some of the stress. Today I wanted to burn a few extra calories and give myself a nice experience as a reward/celebration for dealing well with a stressful social interaction so I took the walk up the butte, which is something I enjoy but don’t do too often.
It was shortly after sunrise when I started walking up the path. It’s not a super steep walk since there are plenty of switchbacks in the path, but it’s still a big hill so I could feel that my heart was pumping more than on my more casual walks.
I went to the southern overlook and got a nice view, although the bright sun in the sky made looking or taking photos to the east a bit difficult.
I walked back down the path and then took a few minutes on a bench by the river for some mindfulness practice where I attended to my breathing while watching some birds. After that I walked back home along the riverbank path.
