My Actifit Report Card: October 13 2020

Tuesday.

Kind of a rough day today. Lots of complaints to satisfy and a bit of a short temper to deal with it all. Not really an ideal combination.

I walked out to see the humongous fungus again. I did some googling yesterday and learned it's supposed to be an edible and super delicious parasol mushroom. To my surprise the broken one has still opened its umbrella cap fully since two days ago.

 

 

They said it's delicious and I felt a bit adventurous so I picked it to give it a try. It had a really nice looking texture and I fried a very thin slice with a wee bit of butter and no seasoning at all to give it a try. It tasted pretty nice and I am still alive... so I guess it is indeed good to eat. Should I try more?

I make fried cutlets from this mushroom or by seasoning it and just frying it on lard. I've been doing this for a few decades and as you read, I'm still here :-)
