Sunflower Field as Retreat for Deers!
My Actifit Blog #777 | 27 October 2020 |
Some of you may remember that a few days ago I asked myself why relatively small sunflowers were planted in my area. Because, as far as I know, these have little chance of producing mature seeds, since in the cold season there are no insects (bees, bumblebees, etc.) for pollination.
The yield for the farmer would be very low, because sunflowers can only pollinate themselves to about 20%.
Today I found the solution to the riddle on a sign at the beginning of the field. This sunflower field has been specially cultivated for the deer as a retreat in winter. In other words, not humans should benefit from it, but the animals!
I think this is really good!
