I Walked Around the Senaiga Lake in Lamon in province of Belluno - Discovering Italy with alequandro!

Sometimes I search with google maps for places to explore and this time I did just that!
The lake is hidden, it is not visible from the main road and in fact in a full day of excursion I only met two people!

A volte mi capita di cercare con google maps i posti da esplorare e questa volta ho fatto proprio così!
Il lago è nascosto, non è visibile dalla strada principale e infatti in una giornata intera di escursione ho incontrato solo due persone!

I parked the car in a small street between some houses and looked at that place, I never thought there was a lake near them.

Ho parcheggiato l'auto in una stradina tra alcune case e guardare quel posto, non avrei mai pensato che li vicino ci fosse un lago.

I went down a narrow road and followed the signs for the footbridge over the lake.

Ho ridisceso una stretta strada e ho seguito le indicazioni per il ponte pedonale sul lago.

Well I have to say the place is really beautiful.

Beh devo dire che il posto è davvero bello.
Era l'11 settembre e il sole splendeva.

The path then slipped into the thickest vegetation and in the shade I felt the humidity of the morning.

Il sentiero poi si è infilato nella vegetazione più fitta e all'ombra sentivo l'umidità della mattina.

There it is! I was beginning to see the water!

Eccolo! Cominciavo ad intravedere l'acqua!

And here is the pedestrian bridge! I didn't know it was that long!

Ed ecco il ponte pedonale! Non immaginavo fosse così lungo!

The view was fantastic...it would be nice to do a photo shoot with a model on the bridge!

La vista era fantastica...sarebbe bello fare uno shooting con una modella sul ponte!

There was a long way to go and after a few shots, I continued.

C'era tanta strada da fare e dopo qualche scatto, ho proseguito.

This stretch was at least 2/3 kilometers long and it was all in the shade and luckily because it was all uphill!

Questo tratto era lungo almeno 2/3 chilometri ed era tutto all'ombra e per fortuna perchè era tutto in salita!

After the climb, the path was flat and it was sunny, it was really good.

Finita la salita, il percorso era sul piano ed era soleggiato, si stava davvero bene. Temperatura perfetta.

A small fountain was the excuse to take a break and quench my thirst...

Una piccola fontana è stato il pretesto per fare una pausa e dissetarmi...

Once I had resumed the walk, the route alternated between woods, beautiful views and wooden and stone houses.

Una volta che avevo ripreso la camminata, il percorso si alternava tra boschi, belle vedute e casette di legno e pietra.

At one point on the way there was another fountain but this was older and more elaborate.

ITA

Ad un certo punto del percorso c'era un'altra fontana ma questa era più antica ed elaborata.

The stone engraving reported the year 1901!
Who knows how many people and animals have passed through here!

L'incisione sulla pietra riportava l'anno 1901!
Chissà quante persone e animali sono passati di qui!

Finally after a few bends downhill I had a nice view of the lake and the landscape.

Finalmente dopo alcuni tornanti in discesa avevo una bella visuale sul lago e il paesaggio.

After another stretch in a deciduous forest I came to a tunnel...

Dopo un altro tratto in un bosco di latifoglie sono giunto ad una galleria...

I never thought I would walk such a place!

ITA

Non avrei mai pensato che avrei camminato un posto del genere!

There were openings in the tunnel and I could see the dam.

ITA

C'erano delle aperture nel tunnel e riuscivo a scorgere la diga.

The lake view was outstanding! On the left of the photo you can see the holes in the rock from which I could see the lake and the dam.

La vista sul lago era eccezionale! A sinistra della foto si riescono a vedere i fori nella roccia da cui intravedevo il lago e la diga.

It was about 3 in the afternoon and I was starving, luckily looking at the map I was near a restaurant!

Erano circa le 3 del pomeriggio e stavo morendo di fame, per fortuna guardando la cartina ero vicino ad un ristornate!

I was safe, I could see the road and look at what a waterfall!

ITA

Ero salvo, intravedevo la strada e guardate che cascata!

When I arrived at the restaurant I ate and then I started walking again to reach the car.
I didn't find a path in nature and I had to make the final stretch on an asphalted road, luckily with little traffic.

Overall I walked about 20 kilometers and I have to say I really liked it!

Arrivato al ristorante ho mangiato e poi mi sono rimesso in cammino per raggiungere l'auto.
Non ho trovato un percorso nella natura e ho dovuto fare il tratto finale su strada asfaltata, per fortuna poco trafficata.

Nel complesso ho camminato per circa 20 chilometri e devo dire che mi è proprio piaciuto!
