Bellas las Once, es muy popular en Venezuela, por el colorido y belleza de sus flores, en contraste con lo pequeña y discreta de la planta, la cual no pasa desapercibida cuando florece con todo su esplendor, bajo el sol radiante, deleitándonos con una preciosa gama de colores La cultivo y disfruto a diario su belleza y representa para mi alegría.

Su nombre es científica es Portulaca grandiflora, de la familia Portulacáceae, es de origen sudamericano, se le asignado distintos nombre, inspirados en el horario de la floración, cercano a mitad de la mañana, y lo efímero de las flores, viven solo un día, por ejemplo en Brasil Verdolaga de Jardín, México Amor de un Rato, España Flor de Seda once horas entre otros.

Its scientific name is Portulaca grandiflora, from the family Portulacáceae, it is of South American origin, it has been assigned different names, inspired by the flowering time, near the middle of the morning, and the ephemeral nature of the flowers, they live only one day, for example in Brazil Verdolaga de Jardín, Mexico Amor de un Rato, Spain Flor de Seda eleven hours among others.

Sus flores son naranja, blancas, rosada, fucsia, roja, matizadas y otros colores, así como también simples o dobles, una misma planta puede tener flores de diferentes colores y florecen unicamente cuando la planta se encuentra expuesta al sol, permanecen cerradas en la noche o durante días nublados. Sus tallos y hojas son verdes, cilíndricos, delgados, lisos y carnosos, en el extremo de los tallos crecen las flores y sus raíces son poco profundas.
