Goya
If anyone expects to read something about the great Spanish painter here, I am sorry to disappoint him and I invite him to leave this post immediately since I do not know anything about painting or plastic artists and would never write about it, it is barely enough for me to observe and delight in museums.
My story today only talks about a town in the Argentine province of Corrientes, to my knowledge it is the second most important city behind the provincial capital and was founded in the mid-1700s, before that and because it was physically located on the banks of the river. Paraná, was a small port of supply for the missions of evangelization and indigenous culture, missions in general promoted by the Catholic Church, especially the Salesians.
I'm not going to talk about the city either, I don't get along very well with the crowds of people and I prefer to talk about its landscapes, its rivers and its flora and fauna. I do like that!
Being a port city, a large part of economic life takes place in its waters, large and small cargo ships circulate around the river at all hours, of course, there are also many services for fishermen, hunters, campers and bird watchers; in my case I have visited the community several times to go fishing.
Its climate and landscapes are extraordinary, its exuberant flora as it is located within the ecosystem called missionary jungle and its tall and leafy trees can entangle their branches in the tops creating natural galleries. The tree variety is immense and includes the pindó palm, the lapacho, the ombú and the viraró among many other species. Regarding lapacho, an old correntino saying mentions that "dorado picá when lapacho blooms", for those who do not know it, dorado is the national fish, very sporty and voracious. Of course, thanks to the vegetation the birds dominate the sky and the number of varieties is enormous.
Its main watercourse is, as I said, the Paraná river, but navigating both upstream and downstream from the city, countless deltas and marshes are formed, crossed by smaller rivers and streams where the wild and natural life flows and develops quite normally. , away from urban centers.
The tourist cabins are generally of a good standard and the services excellent. Leaving at dawn and returning at sunset when the sun goes down allows you to take advantage of the whole day to discover what this region offers us. After a relaxing bath you are ready to go downtown for dinner.
Goya is not the painter but the city is a beautiful painting for tourism.
Si alguno espera leer aquí algo sobre el gran pintor español, lamento decepcionarlo y lo invito a dejar este post inmediatamente ya que no sé nada de pintura ni de artistas plásticos y jamás escribiría sobre eso, apenas me alcanza para observar y deleitarme en los museos.
Mi historia de hoy solo habla sobre una localidad de la provincia argentina de Corrientes, según tengo conocimiento es la segunda ciudad en importancia detrás de la capital provincial y fue fundada a mediados del 1700, antes de eso y por estar físicamente emplazada a orillas del río Paraná, era un pequeño puerto de abastecimiento para las misiones de evangelización y culturización indígena, misiones en general promovidas por la iglesia católica, especialmente los salesianos.
Tampoco voy a hablar de la ciudad, no me llevo demasiado bien con las aglomeraciones de gente y prefiero hablar sobre sus paisajes, sus ríos y su flora y fauna. Eso sí me gusta!
Al ser una ciudad portuaria gran parte de la vida económica se desarrolla en sus aguas, grandes y pequeños barcos cargueros circulan por el río a toda hora, por supuesto que también hay muchos servicios para pescadores, cazadores, acampistas y avistadores de aves; en mi caso he visitado la comunidad en varias oportunidades para ir pescar.
Su clima y sus paisajes son extraordinarios, su flora exuberante ya que se encuentra dentro del ecosistema denominado selva misionera y sus árboles frondosos y altos pueden enredar sus ramas en las copas creando galerías naturales. La variedad arbórea es inmensa e incluye la palmera pindó, el lapacho, el ombú y el viraró entre muchas otras especies. Respecto al lapacho un antiguo dicho correntino menciona que el “dorado picá cuando florece el lapacho”, para quienes no lo saben el dorado es el pez nacional, muy deportivo y voraz. Por supuesto que gracias a la vegetación las aves dominan el cielo y la cantidad de variedades es enorme.
Su curso de agua principal es como dije, el río Paraná, pero navegando tanto aguas arriba como aguas abajo de la ciudad se forman innumerables deltas y bañados surcados por ríos y arroyos más pequeños donde la vida salvaje y natural fluye y se desarrolla con bastante normalidad, alejadas de los centros urbanos.
Las cabañas para turistas son en general de buena categoría y los servicios excelentes. Salir de madrugada y volver al atardecer cuando el sol baja permite aprovechar todo el día para descubrir lo que esta región nos brinda. Luego de un baño relajante se está listo para ir al centro a cenar.
Goya no es el pintor pero es la ciudad es una hermosa pintura para el turismo.
