Few understand, many depend. Pocos entienden, muchos dependen.
These days I have been reading several posts about the HF (hard fork) and many comments that stimulate those same posts. Most are technical things that mention long-term benefits (they are always long-term) and a number of technical terms to support the hive's direction and beautiful targeting plans. Terms such as SMT, HMT, RC delegation and others are mentioned repeatedly in each and every one of these publications.
Everything looks great, surely. I am not an expert in blockchain and several of these things I understand more or less well, some I can only imagine and others I cannot even discern if they will really be good decisions.
This reminds me a lot of the conversations and discussions of lawyers and judges where the legal terminology is at times incomprehensible and even unpleasant. The common people who are the vast majority of those who support systems of all kinds such as social, educational, legal, institutional, computer and financial; All these people can only understand what is happening around them based on the results: as they say, half of the library serves to maintain one position and the other half the opposite position.
I find it excellent that people who understand about this manage the systems and the blockchain, there is no other possibility, however it is necessary for them to remember that the tens of thousands or more of people who publish and vote every day do not understand a small portion of what they say and it would be excellent if they published the news in plain language.
As a computer scientist, I have needed to level my explanations and decisions in interacting with people who may be experts in other issues but do not fully understand what our technical language expresses.
This shows respect for others and also the possibility that intelligent people but with other profiles can contribute ideas and solutions to some of the existing problems in the operation of the platform and also, why not, suggest new forms of expansion and security.
Por estos días estuve leyendo varias publicaciones sobre el HF (bifurcación dura) y muchos comentarios que estimulan esos mismos posts. La mayoría son cosas técnicas que mencionan los beneficios a largo plazo (siempre son a largo plazo) y una serie de términos técnicos para apoyar el rumbo de la colmena y los hermosos planes de direccionamiento. Términos como SMT, HMT, delegación de RC y otros son mencionados en forma reiterada en todas y cada una de esas publicaciones.
Todo luce muy bien, seguramente. No soy un experto en blockchain y varias de estas cosas las entiendo más o menos bien, algunas solo puedo imaginarlas y otras ni siquiera puedo discernir si realmente serán buena decisiones.
Esto me hace acordar mucho a las conversaciones y discusiones de los abogados y jueces donde la terminología legal se hace por momentos incomprensible y hasta desagradable. La gente común que es la gran mayoría de los que sostienen los sistemas de todo tipo como los sociales, educativos, legales, institucionales, informáticos y financieros; toda esta gente solo puede entender lo que ocurre a su alrededor en base a los resultados: como se dice la mitad de la biblioteca sirve para mantener una postura y la otra mitad la postura contraria.
Me parece excelente que la gente que entiende sobre esto administre los sistemas y la blockchain, no existe otra posibilidad, sin embargo es necesario que recuerden que las decenas de miles o más de personas que publican y votan todos los días no entienden ni una pequeña porción de lo que dicen y sería excelente que publicaran las noticias en un lenguaje más llano.
Yo como informático he necesitado nivelar mis explicaciones y decisiones en la interacción con gente que puede ser experta en otras cuestiones pero no entienden del todo lo que nuestro lenguaje técnico expresa.
Eso muestra respeto por el prójimo y también la posibilidad de que gente inteligente pero con otros perfiles pueda aportar ideas y soluciones a algunos de los problemas existentes en el funcionamiento de la plataforma y también, por qué no, sugerir nuevas formas de expansión y de seguridad.
