crimson foxy googlyeye creature
This post goes for the #googlyeyes challenge hold by @fraenk.
Alas since we moved to Hive the challenge was paused and postponed, but I hope, we still meet a lot of googlyeye faces -- and share them here. We are patiently awaiting, @fraenk!
So. A long story short...
I captured this back in late March, when lockdown activity wasnt on its peak, all the shit just began... we had difficulties with getting toilet paper. One day I took my camera, telephoto lens and ventured into a brief trip outside, to the local Auchan mall, to replenish our food supplies -- and toilet paper. On the way back, I met this beautiful creature.

haha... this one's amazing... a great urban googly... I really have to get this show going again, not sure what's holding me back but I have trouble committing the time to it to do it properly... I hope it doesn't take me until 2021 lol... soonTM
I didnt intend to shame you, just a little reminder, why not! I didnt accumulated a lot of new stuff, actually, got only 2-3. but I will share them, maybe this will work as an impulse or little extra feeding, to give you an extra impulse. I know, sometimes we all need thick little kick in the back to go :=)
ps. have you seen two my September mushrooms posts? very welcome! I found a lot of nice fungi, and probably will do 2-3 more posts out of the stuff I collected recently. we are on the peak of quiet hunt. uh, and one of those 2-3 googlyeyes I've got, connected with mushrooms, hehe :P
no shame at all, I remember it almost daily all by myself so I don't need a reminder... your post however is giving me a nice warm feeling, knowing I am not the only one who remembers.
I have difficulty committing the time, the @googlyprize has always been a passion project and I did invest several hours at least into each and every round that was held, starting with a fresh title and bonus picture, organizing the winner election on discord, writing the posts, meticulously maintaining the spreadsheet for the prize pool...
it's been getting increasingly difficult to fit all that into my week every week and the prizes started to become more and more irregular before the infamous guerilla fork happened...
I'm still not sure how I can bring it back with less of a time investment but an equal amount of passion... because it needs some passion to be of positive value.
Aaaaand... I also don't curate much on hive these days, so I barely see any posts outside of my little actifit bubble these days... I'll go look for your mushrooms now, though.
ps. happy you enjoyed this little one, I am not convinced it is great and exceptional.. just lovely!

Ewa, I recently discovered this talked-about-a-lot 'chicken of the wood' mushroom, and... khm... I hate to ask this, but isnt it worth any curangel attention?.. I was pretty proud, and shaped it into a nice post, as I thought, but it was plainly silenced. pretty sadly.
Which post? We have limits of 1 vote/user/week, so even if we would like to, we don't always can.

That’s a great google-eyes you came upon.
The funny thing about the toilet paper is people were stocking up here with the rumour it was going to be scarce. I would see folks outside the grocery storeS with two huge bundles of it. I even bought extra but it seems to be readily available.
I can share an anecdote in response. it reflects the spirit of the times, although it may not be very funny :P
--why is there such a deficit of toilet paper all around?
--cause one sneezing person provides 100 folks pooping in their pants. a scale is like that!
