Hiking Mount Charleston in Nevada.
While in America last year with my wife we decided to take a drive from California where we were staying with my cousin and his wife to Nevada then to Las Vegas but before going to try our hands at the casinos in Las Vegas we stopped at Mount Charleston to enjoy some fresh air and do a little nature hiking.
Mount Charleston is about 40 miles from Las Vegas most people from Las Vegas will escape from the Sin City just to come here to refresh there body and soul it has many trails you can walk through separated by high mountain ridges between leading you out into these big empty densely forest valleys with huge Oak and Pine trees for as far as you can see just jaw dropping spectacular views.
The Mount Charleston peaks are formed of jagged limestone but do look rather dull in gray looking colors they are very impressive tall cliff ridges to look at the actual scenery was very pleasant to look at and unspoiled grounds to be seen will long ranging waterfalls dropping over the ridges of some of these cliffs further down into the valleys.
Even though it is not as popular as the peaks and mountains of California or Colorado it still gets a lot of visitors coming here for the hiking experience and the winter skiing season during the months between November and March it also has some great scenery spots where you can set up your picnic basket and enjoy your day looking over the lush green valleys.
If your not into hiking there is a scenic drive looping around the mountains on a paved road about 40 miles long leading you up to the highest point of elevation looking right over the Mount Charleston National Park and they have lovely mountain lodges if you wanted to spend a couple of nights in these beautiful valleys. Another amazing hiking trip added to my list and happy we did make the stop to see this beautiful part of America.
