Powracam ze wspomnieniami z Norwegii. Dzisiaj pokażę Wam trochę zdjęć z okolic Sande, Josterdalsbreen oraz Geirangerfjord. Czyli na mapie punkty zaznaczone na niebiesko.

I'm back with memories from Norway. In the last post, I've mentioned places like Hardangervidda, Lofthus, Folgefonna and Bergen. Today I'm going to show you some photos from around Sande, Josterdalsbreen and Geirangerfjord - points marked blue on the map below.

Sande Camping

Uwielbiam okolice Sande, są po prostu bajkowe. Sama przejażdżka drogą wzdłuż fjordu to wspaniałe wrażenia. Do tego przemiła obsługa na kempingu i sauna w domku, dzięki której bez obaw mogliśmy zażyć mocno orzeźwiającej kąpieli w jeziorku, do którego wpływają bezpośrednio wody z topiącego się lodowca. To wszystko sprawia, że Sande, pomimo iż zapewne dla wielu kemping jak wiele innych w Norwegii, dla mnie jest miejscem wyjątkowym.

I love the area around Sande, it's just fabulous. The drive along the fjord itself is a great experience. In addition, the friendly staff at the campsite and the sauna in the cottage, thanks to which we could have a refreshing bath in the lake, which is directly flooded by water from the melting glacier. All this makes Sande a special place for me, although probably for many people it would be just a campsite like many others in Norway.

Josterdalsbreen

Sande Camping jest fajną miejscówką nie tylko ze względu na urokliwie położony kemping wraz z saunami i miejscem kąpielowym. Jest blisko lodowca Josterdalsbreen, więc jest świetnym punktem wypadowym dla fajnej wycieczki.

Sande Camping is a nice spot not only because of the charmingly situated campsite with saunas and a bathing place. It is close to the Josterdalsbreen glacier so it is a great starting point for a nice trip.

Znajduje się tam również miejsce dawnego miasteczka Lodalen, które zniknęło z powierzchni ziemi w wyniku osuwisk - w 1905 oraz 1936 roku. Podczas pierwszej katastrofy zginęło 61 mieszkańców osady, a podczas drugiej - 74. Potężna fala zmiotła wszystko na swojej drodze - zabudowania, trzodę, pola uprawne. Więcej prób zamieszkania w tym miejscu nie podjęto, obecnie jest to tylko miejsce pamięci.

There is also the site of the former town of Lodalen, which disappeared from the face of the earth as a result of landslides - in 1905 and 1936. During the first landslide, 61 inhabitants of the settlement died, and during the second - 74. A powerful wave wiped out everything in its path - buildings, livestock, and farmland. No more attempts have been made to live in this place, now it is only a memorial site.

Geirangerfjord

Geirangerfjord to król norweskich fiordów. Jeden z najbardziej spektakularnych i najczęściej fotografowanych. W 2005 roku wraz z Nærøyfjorden został wpisany na listę światowego dziedzictwa UNESCO. Obecnie jest to region zagrożony katastrofą. Położona w pobliżu góra Åkerneset pęka. Naukowcy podkreślają, że szczeliny z roku na rok są coraz większe, a jeżeli skały się oderwą, wywołają tsunami. Fale mogą mieć nawet 80 m wysokości.

Geolodzy stale monitorują Åkerneset. Symulacje pokazały, że jeśli dojdzie do katastrofy, do wody może wpaść nawet 100 mln m3 skał. Mieszkańcy wsi Geiranger i Hellesylt położonych u stóp fiordu Geirangerfjorden na ewakuację będą mieli zaledwie kilka minut, a statki i łodzie natychmiast zostaną zatopione – w sezonie turystycznym – od maja do końca sierpnia – do portu w Geiranger zawija około 200 wycieczkowców.

Jak wskazują badacze, skały mogą osunąć się w każdej chwili, dlatego mieszkańcy regionu są stale informowani, jak zachować się na wypadek zagrożenia. Działa także system alarmowy, który wyśle powiadomienie SMS, także do licznie odwiedzających to miejsce turystów.

Powstał nawet film na ten temat - "Fala". Nie jest to może arcydzieło gatunku, ale w moich oczach zdobywa +4 pkt do oceny za piękne widoki, które tak dobrze wspominam.

Geirangerfjord is the king of the Norwegian fjords. One of the most spectacular and most often photographed. In 2005, together with Nærøyfjorden, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Currently, it is a region at risk of disaster. The nearby mountain of Åkerneset is cracking. Scientists emphasize that the fissures are getting bigger every year, and if the rocks break off, they will trigger a tsunami. The waves can be up to 80 meters high.

Geologists are constantly monitoring Åkerneset. Simulations have shown that if a disaster occurs, up to 100 million m3 of rock can fall into the water. Residents of the villages of Geiranger and Hellesylt at the foot of the Geirangerfjorden fjord will only have a few minutes to evacuate, and ships and boats will be sunk immediately. And during the tourist season - from May to the end of August - around 200 cruise ships call at the port of Geiranger.

As researchers point out, rocks can slide at any time, which is why the inhabitants of the region are constantly informed about what to do in case of an emergency. There is also an alarm system that will send an SMS notification also to numerous tourists visiting this place.

There was even a movie about it - "The Wave". It may not be a masterpiece of the genre, but in my eyes it scores +4 points for the beautiful views that I remember so well.
