Alphabet Hunt Challenge - Letter M
The hunt for words starting with letter M begins!
I was looking forward to the post by @barbara-orenya to open this week's challenge and when I saw that the first word was Milano, I knew what my post would be about - Memories, memories from my travels and the images will represent words with M. We keep our memories stored in photos and now I am going to dig into my archive in search of M words.
To see more about this wonderful challenge, follow this link.
I will start with something that is located near me - Madara horseman, or Madara rider
This carving was made on the nearly vertical cliffs nearby my working place, close to a village called Madara. It represents a ruler on a horseback followed by a dog and with lion defeated under. The relief is unique, made in the beginning of 8th century and included in the UNESCO heritage list.
Interesting to know that the relief is 23 m above the ground, made us wonder how it was made. After a poll, the Madara horseman was selected as national symbol of Bulgaria.
Let's move to our neigbouring country Turkey and see the impressive Mosques in Istanbul.
I was there to meet a client and on the next day before the flight, my colleague and I had some few hours to kill. We went to see The Süleymaniye Mosque. It was rainy morning and when we arrived the rain has just stopped.
The weather changed when we continued our tour to the Blue Mosque. The sky cleared and the sun was shining.
My next stop shall be of course in Thailand. I can't miss it since it was my last trip and i have so many fresh memories. The word that I chose is Mango smoothie, that I had it literally every day. Nothing better than a fresh fruit juice on ice in hot sunny day.
In this photo next to the mango smoothie is cold Thai tea, that my son offered me to try and it was very refreshing.
How about sitting on a terrace with a sea view and enjoying the cold drink?
While still in Thailand I visited the Mall where I snapped shots of the Mini Cooper
Not a driver, but a fan of Mini I like the convertable one.
Also the shiny red Countryman.
My memories will bring us back in Europe and first in Switzerland. The summit of Moleson is at 2002 m height and we reached it by cable car. This is my younger self some 11 years ago in front of the cable car.
Anywhere in Switzerland the landscape is simply stunning. Even though I had a simple camera and no skills whatsoever, the photo below still brings nice memories of the trip in the mountains.
And the last choice is Madam Butterfly in Milan, Italy.
No, I am not Madam Butterfly. I am in front of a shop window dedicated to the opera. I don't remember which shop it was.
Milan in December, with all the Christmas decorarion and spirit, is a wonderful place to visit.
Searching for the photos was very pleasant and I was like I'm back again in these places. It is so nice to have such memories, isn't it?

What a wonderful trip through your beautiful Memories..! Thanks for the journey @nelinoeva ! 😊
Thank you Barbara! ❤
I have picked your post for my daily hive voting initiative, Keep it up and Hive On!!
Thank you kindly!
I love seeing the photo memories of your travels! I don't think I have ever seen a photo of the Madara Horseman before and had no idea that it is the national symbol of Bulgaria. I feel quite uncultured!
I love Thai tea. That wonderful milky smokey taste. I have some in the pantry and will make a pitcher full tomorrow. It will be perfect to have on hand during these hot weather days.
Great M word choices!
Thank you very much Melinda! ❤
Our symbol, Madara horseman or Rider is not very popular, I am afraid. Even if it is close to where I work I hardly can go there very often.
Cold Thai tea is great choice in these days 👍
It is an incredible work of art and I am so glad to know of it!
Wow! You gave been to many interesting places!! Very nice memories! A nice series of memorable photos!
I only regret for not having many photos. Luckily I had a chance to combine business and pleasure many times. The places most visited as such were Switzerland and Spain. I have been in Barcelona so many times, I lost the count and yet, I have few photos from there.
BARCELONA is a great, great place! and people... sadly you were there on business only. I wish you will enjoy the streetlife of the city one day, and appreciate Gaudi masterpieces (not only Sagrada Family, but his apartments buildings, and the Guel park, as well). but maybe it will be too late to take pics on that day, hehe
Oh, I always managed to find time for sightseeing and I was in Park Guel and I visited La Pedrera. Gaudi masterpieces are unique and must be seen.
Even if it wasn't holiday, I tried to get as much as possible from my free time there and to see different parts of the city. I am in love with Barcelona.
aa! nothing to complain, then. blessings!
You took me in a blog adventure around the most fascinating places in the world.
Reading the Thai tea description, it feels like I have to open my fridge now haha!
Oh, thank you, glad you like my world adventure. There many wonderful places in each country.
Thank you for sharing your lovely Memories with us, Neli @nelinoeva, your hunt for the M was very successful 😀
This relief is great, but I don't like Mini Coopers. Not because they wouldn't look cool, because they do, but I hate to drive these cars because you don't see much what's going on on the streets. The windows are so small 😉
Most of your Memories I would love this Thai tea now on a terrace at the sea 😁

Thank you Johann, glad you like my memories.
About the Mini, well, I am not a driver and I judge the cars only by their look 😉😃
Which probably makes me like most of the cars LOL.
My pleasure, Neli, you're welcome.
The Mini looks really cool, but I have driven a friend's Mini and although it makes fun you don't even see a traffic light without having to bend yourself 😉
By the way, I buy my cars also by their look 😁

Lovely to see the interesting places you visited Neli.💞 The Madara horseman is a unique and I also have a horse in my Ms. 😄
Thank you Jo, 😀❤
Your horse pictures are fantastic and mane is such a good word.
Thanks Neli ❤️
Have a wonderful day!
impressive and convincing trophies, Neli.
probably I didnt learned any new words :)
but thats not a problem, I already have learned too much of them, and not always benefit from it, anyway )))
Madara horseman made in the beginning of 8th century - right in the time when Byzantium emperors tried to conquer Bulgaria, and failed, if my memory doesnt fails me. very memorable image!
I really envy you for you have seen the Mosques of Istanbul. we have only one Mosque at St.Petersburg, its Marvelous, but I wish I would travel to Istanbul one day and spend there... a few months... or maybe a few years... 3-4 would be even better. a great wordpick, again.
I dunno what Moleson is, but I love this image out of your memories! it presents us your better side, me thinks. great image.
Madam Butterfly in Milan is a cherry on the top of it. surprising, fresh, delicious, exclusive... and simply nice. congratulations with another good hunting!
Oh, thank you for your kind words.
Bulgaria and Byzantine Empire always fought over the territory. :-)
Istanbul is a majestic city with so many interesting places to visit. You would need really a lot of time. I have just a little. Hopefully we can travel again without fear of being infected soon.
Moleson is a peak/summit in Swiss Pre-Alps. I am happy that I had the opportunity to visit Switzerland many times and to see different parts of this absolutely beautiful country.
Milan, oh mama mia, it was such a lovely weekend there.😀
I have wonderful memories from all my trips.
no doubts about that! ps: have a very little travelling experience, and a tiny travelphoto archive myself :)
