Alphabet Hunt Challenge - Letter L
Here we are on our hunt for words, this time starting with the letter L.
This is the next round of The Alphabethunt Challenge, created by the wonderful @barbara-orenya.
The letter L gives so many choices, so I decided to make mine with animals only. And to stick to that I have included some old photos I have used before. Not all of them, some were not posted at all and they come handy for this challenge.
The first animal is Llama.
This photo I took quite recently in Varna Zoo. Llamas are South American members of the camel family. They are domestic animals and their wool is used for making ropes, rugs and fabrics
Second animal is Lizard
When visiting the JJ market in Bangkok we went in the pet shop area where I saw many lizards for sale. I don't know what kind this one is.
Next one was a visitor of my home - Larry, the lizard. It came one night inside, while the rest of the time was outside on the balcony.
Next is a fish, rather ugly if you ask me. It is called Lemon Cichlosoma
This photo I took in Varna Aquarium. The fish reaches 30 cm in length and the male is easily recognized by the hump on the head.
The photos below represent the world of the insects.
Locust
This amazing one I found on the wall next to the door of my room in Koh Lipe, Thailand. It was pretty big and so colourful, never seen such before.
Another interesting representative that starts with L is the Leopard Moth.
This is also an old photo used before. When I first saw the moth I did not know what exactly it was. I have to say I saw it just once and I would love to see it again and to make better photo.
Last but not least is the Ladybird/Ladybug.
I am happy to see them coming to my plants as they are eating the aphids. Very useful insect and most loved not only by the gardeners.
The black spot in front looks like butterfly or letter W.
Another photo of ladybird, made of Swarovski crystal, one of my figurines.
And that was my animal selection for the #Alphabethunt.

Wow! These are very nice creatures for this letter! Well done! Very impressed by your friend, Larry! I used to have a big gecko George! But he went away!
Those insects are incredible!
Cheers.
P. S. How’s Blue doing?!
I love geckos. They are so cute. Larry has disappeared after some time and I did not see any more lizzards on the balcony.
Blue is draining our energy, little rascal. 😀
Eats like a wolf and runs like a loony. So far the other cat is tolerating Blue. I hope they will get along.
Oh! Blue is getting much stronger and happier!! Lucky cat!!
Thee is considerable improvement but Blue is still on some medication. Hopefully when we will go for the check up this Friday, everything to be OK.
@kaminchan, if you love insects, you are very welcome to see my latet post -- i've captured some nice handsome guys ;-)
Yup! You have nice photos!
I enjoy the idea to do a thematic hunt when the choice of words is as wide as with the letter L ..😉
Some have chosen the fruits and veggies, you chose the animals (hé hé ..there is even a fish that has a name of citrus..LoL) Since we have begun the #AlphabetHunt, I have noticed that there are a lot of words I don't know in english, and that I wasn't aware I didn't know them 😄
Here I have learnt Locust ! 😊
This Leopard moth has so beautiful blue patterns ! sometimes moths have nothing to envy to butterflies...😁
This challenge is as much fun as learning new words. For me too. By the way I was wondering if to choose another theme, related to my job. I am Logistics coordinator in Logistics department where we load lorries and if I think more, there could be more words with L. 😉😄
Haha ! but maybe it was harder to illustrate..? 😊
Well, I could illustrate my job if I would have time to make pictures, I am damn too busy, I hardly have time for lunch.
thats pretty sadly (for the post). I noticed / had a feeling that you was in a hurry :/
I am always in a hurry. 😀
what about a luggage?..
or Losses of the cargo, hehe
Luggage is more related to personal belongings, but could do. Loss or lost cargo is good too. 😀
What a great idea to use animals only for your L hunt, Neli @nelinoeva 😊
I like all of these photos, also that Lemon Cichlosoma fish and I mean the fish is looking funny and not ugly at all to me 😉 but most I like the Ladybug because these nice little bugs look always so innocent and peaceful to me 😊

Thank you Johann for your nice comment and support, 😀
Glad you like the fish. It is extraordinary in shape and colour and the name caught my eye at once.
The ladybirds are very muched loved by everybody, I think.
You are very welcome Neli 🙂
Everybody loves Ladybugs, that's true 😉

.What a incredible selection of animals and insects all so beautiful and cute in there own ways the Leopard Moth i love the most never seen a moth with those sort of patterns it looks like one of them long coats the American Africa gangsters use to wear years ago and the Locust has amazing colors i haven't seen before either great finds well done 👍
Thank you so much for your lovely comment 😀
The moths are incredible with different patterns and they are so amazingly fluffy.
You are most welcome @nelinoeva 😊
Strangely enough i haven't see much of moths in my area of Byron Bay maybe not looking hard enough.
Leopard moth is stunning how lucky to have seen one visit.
Llama always look so docile a lovely animal to see in real life, never seen one of these.
Nice round up on the letter "L" @nelinoeva
Thank you very much for your nice comment 😀
I am so glad you like my selection of L animals.
A wonderful selection of L critters! What a great hunt to have it be Ll about animals!
I saw a leopard moth just one time, too. Everything I have read says they are common, but it seems odd that we don't see them more often.

Thanks Melinda 😀
L words were easy to find and put together in one theme, but there are other letters that would be more challenging.
I would like to see that leopard moth again too.
Maybe there are lots of them flying around at night and we miss out because we are sleeping! 😴😁
Also, my cat likes to patrol on the balcony and no moth can survive or dare to come close.
Ahhh, you are well protected then! 😀
Furry takes very seriously her duties 😄
Now the little Blue has to learn too.
Is Blue feeling better and keeping you entertained?
Much better. Blue is like a rocket, running around, annoying the other cat and keeps us sleepless. 🤣
Hahaha! Those babies will do that! I'm glad he is better. Lucky kitten!

All wonderful entries Neli!! I love every one but that Leopard Moth is the coolest (to me anyway)! 😉 💖
Thank you Dee ❤
I should have put the moth photo first. 😀
You are welcome Neli! Oh no...that llama was a great choice for the number 1 spot but I've never seen a moth like that so it was cool to see! 😉
@deerjay, i totally with you here - highlight for me, too. as I never see one alive, probably...
Neli,
you've surprised me with some nice trophy's sticked to 'animal' word hunt. Seems you are a fan of ladybugs, am I right?
NB #1: you could get a use of word 'larvae' this time
NB #2: the 2nd lizzard in my humble opinion is Gecko, but not the lizard. idk for sure is it the same or not... but i suspect its not.
my the best wishes, and looking forward to the next week. K was hard (for certain reasons) and L, vice versa, was very-very super easy! Some folks used a Lemon-Lake-Leaves combination... which works really well, hehe :P
Thank you for your comment @qwerrie.
Ladybirds are easy to photograph and I have plenty of images. I like how they contrast against the green grass.
Thee are other animals that can be used - lion, liger, lynx, to name the few, if you have a chance to encounter any of them. I didn't like the photos of the lion I took from the zoo, otehrwise I would use it.
As for the gecko, it is just one of the many lizard species.
The L hunt was easy indeed, I haven't thought about M yet. But I am looking forward to see what the next week will bring. 😀
