#AlphabetHunt :: Feeling Kneady for Letter "K" :)

avatar

This has been a fun hunt with unexpected finds. We were thinking of the usual "K" objects and suddenly some surprises appeared.

So, here I am again with my finds, this week with the AlphabetHunt "K".

Kalimba, a thumb piano

1.jpg

We collect musical instruments and this one, starts with the letter K! :)

2.jpg

Kalimba is an African musical instrument and each metal tine represents a note. We play the instrument by plucking the metal tines with our thumb. With patience, we can play the "Do-Re-Mi" song from the "Sound of Music" :)

Kipling bag

My favourite bag brand!

4.jpg

Kipling is a Belgian brand and I especially love its trademark crinkle nylon material which can be washed and dried easily. Each bag (the nylon crinkle fabric type) has thick cotton web straps and furry monkey keychains (which I have kept so safely somewhere until I could not find them :P).

Kneading

One thing the recent lockdown has taught me is that kneading is therapeutic :)

We start with what recipes usually call as a shaggy mess hehe, after mixing flour and what nots with water.
10.jpg

With the muscles of the hand and power of the palm, we just keep kneading..
11.jpg

and kneading...
12.jpg

until a smooth ball is formed :)
13.jpg

Keyboard's keys

I love keyboards! I love pressing on keys, whether it is a computer keyboard or a musical keyboard or keys on a till :D

This is my current favourite computer keyboard.

KitKat

Want a break?
Time for a break?
Have a KitKat!

8.jpg

I love these twin chocolate coated wafer bars that snaps so beautifully when you break it :)

Kindle

Our favourite traveling companion.

7.jpg
Lightweight and thousands of free books available for download :)

We had a kalimba in our house when I was a kid. I used to play on it all the time... until my thumbs hurt lol. I bought my son Jude one too a few years ago too.. they are really cool! !tip

LOL! My thumbs were painful too! Luckily this one came with rubber thumb protectors which helped soothe the pain :D
Thank you @jaynie for stopping by and for the tip! <3

A very nice selection indeed ! I love the sound of the Kalimba, this is so very soft and soothing !😊 and it seems that a lot of people discovered kneading during the confinement.. 😁

kneading is therapeutic

probably so! we used to say the same about the baking of the traditional, yeast-free sourdough bread. it is hard, but very 'fulfilling' and therapeutic

We collect musical instruments and this one, starts with the letter K

o-o! did you posted a blog about it? would be a pleasure to read about your collection. I wish I had one too. but, uhm, I am always very limited in space and recources... I am dreaming of darbuka and little tibetan metal plates... I obtained 4 metal kazoo a few years ago! babies ruined 3 of them pretty quickly :)))

the Kipling bag was a highlight of your post for me (looks very cool on your photos!). also enjoyed KitKat logo, tho generally speaking, I dont like Nestle and try not to support it.

a good hunting and convincing pickups, was a pleasure to inspect. cheerio!

Thank you @qwerrie :)
Ah I've been wanting to try sourdough bread. But I need to grow the starter first.
I haven't, come to think of it. A good idea to post, although there are some instruments, I am not sure what they are called :) Darbukas are cool. We have a super mini version, oh and a kazoo too. And I didn't know their names until I Googled your words :D
Oh.. why do you not like Nestle? Please share.
