On The Hunt for Letter "R"....
Yesterday my wife and myself were back at the supermarket doing our fruit and veggie shopping but also on the hunt for the @alphabethunt contest run by @barbara-orenya and this week begins the hunt for letter "R" so follow us down the aisles and see what we can find starting with the letter "R" honestly this reminds me of the little games we use to play as kids , i spy with my little eye i am sure we have all played this game at some stage of our childhood life anyway lets move on.
I think you guys enjoyed my drawings in displaying my fruits and veggies for letter "Q" last week but unfortunately no drawing for you this week we do have a abundance of fruits and veggies starting with the letter "R" but maybe soon again with the upcoming remaining letters i will need to do some more drawings. Let's start of with a double hint with Rockmelons and Raspberries.
"Rockmelons and Raspberries"
The Rockmelons are also know as the Cantaloupe or Sweet Melon and with there amazing peachy-orange color flesh they are not only juicy but are a excellent source of daily Vitamin C
Raspberries a sweet gorgeous little fruit rich in antioxidants, potassium, fiber, and other essential nutrients and they come with many health benefits. They make a tasty addition to breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert if they were not so expensive i would be eating them all day long such a tasty little fruit.
"Raspberries , Red Grapes and Rockmelon"
Rapa vegetable also know as the Rapini or Broccoli Rabe is a green vegetable belonging to the Cabbage family they have beautiful yellow buds that resemble Broccoli , greens leaves and a stems all being edible but this Rapa does have a slightly bitter taste it's used in many Mediterranean cuisine very popular amongst the Italian's i have eaten this Rapa vegetable many of times mixed in with spaghetti dishes i do love the taste of this Rapa vegetable and as healthy as Broccoli or Cabbage.

Red Grapes another sweet little fruit very popular all around the world whether eaten fresh or use to make red wine it is a fruit packed With nutrients and vitamins with a high antioxidant count. This amazing red grape also comes with countless health benefits a great little fruit to protect people with Diabetes.

Radicchio vegetable looks like a small red cabbage this Radicchio vegetable can be either round or long and has a little bitter taste it can be added to your salads which gives your salad a sharp, pungent flavor and again this Radicchio vegetable and Red Coral lettuce are very much used in Mediterranean cuisine in salads and with Italian cooking. The Radicchio is high in antioxidants and helps with the digestive system and heart.

And this is what a Italian mixed salad looks like with Radicchio , Red Coral Lettuce , Rocket leaves and some Green Coral Lettuce with a bit of Balsamic Oil and Balsamic Vinegar mixed in for more flavor.
Red Radish and White Radish can been either cooked or use in raw preparations for salads they are a root vegetable even there green tops are edible used in salads giving you a peppery taste to your salads. Also high in nutrients and packed with many vitamins these vegetables are known to keep our body in great working condition.

This Rockmelon seems to have inherited a few names by the sounds of it , i haven't heard that name before Spanspek it sounds like a mechanical tool 😅

You nailed it again! And you have rhubarb also in one of your photos.
I have tried just once the green leaves of the red radish and it was indeed peppery.
But raspberries are among of my favourite berries and they look so yummy.

You certainly nailed this one to the cross! Most excellent! Your pictures have inspired me to go out and get more fruit and veggie pictures!
I adore grapes, however, for the diabetics out there, I need to point out certain fruits like bananas, grapes, cherries, and mangoes are full of carbohydrates and sugar and may raise your blood sugar levels quickly. These are all fruits with a high glycemic index, which measures the increase in the blood glucose levels after eating a particular food. I pulled that off Google as I know grapes have so much sugar in them.
Although I must say, they are delicious! I want to truly thank you for taking part in the #MarketFriday challenge! The entire challenge has migrated from a stroll through a market to a cultural extravaganza. ! It really surprised me, but, also delights me to know how much effort people put into it. It pointed out our differences in the beginning, but, then, it really started showing how many things our cultures share. When the day is done, it shows off how human we all are and how we basically all care about our families and others. I love the experience of it all. Such an abundance of fruits and veggies in this R hunt ! We miss your drawings but as you wrote it, they will probably come back for some more difficult hunt, Hmmm...maybe the U or the X ..? oh well, I wish you will be able to make this fruity challenge till the end, but if you can not, you will not be unworthy indeed 😉
