Another week has passed and we are already chasing the next letter in the marvelous #AlphabetHunt Challenge hosted by theBarbara @barbara-orenya in the Feel Good Community: illustrate 6 words (or concepts) starting with the letter of the week.

This week we hunt the Letter "K": #AlphabetHunt letter K - and the winners of the lucky draw for the #J week.

Hive AlphabetHunt - Letter K

In German we have so many words which start with a "K", but it seems the English "K" words are rather rare.

Knautia Arvensis

I have to admit that I haven't known the name Knautia Arvensis of this flower until I have posted a photo of it last year. The German name "Acker-Witwenblume" sounds somehow strange, because it means "Field-Widowflower". I have no idea why this flower and the genus Knautia is called "Witwenblume" in German at all. The commonly used English name is Field Scabious.

Kiwi

It's been a few years since I took my first digital macro photo. The kiwi slice, which I actually use almost everywhere as my profile picture, was not the first, but one of the first macros that I liked.

Keyboard

My son has chosen to learn playing the piano at school ... two months before he decided that he does not want to go to school anymore and left it. But we still have the keyboard, almost unplayed.

Kamikaze

Kamikaze: This word came into my mind when I saw the video later at home, not because I would have ridden so fast though (it looks faster than it actually was), but it was too fast for the road conditions and for my motorbike, because after this ride the steel mounting plate of my Vance&Hines exhaust broke.

Key

This was the first word that came into my mind when I thought of the letter "K", and I think many of you will think the same.
But thinking of a word and illustrate it with a photo are two different pair of shoes, so I needed a few days of thinking until I saw a bunch of keys in a box in my office and thought I could play a bit with Photoshop and the Nik Collection.

Knot

To be honest, th efirst fice words have been more or less easy to find, but the sixth K word was very hard. Of course I thought of a Knife, but the knife I wanted to photograph has suddenly disappeared and I couldn't find it. So I made a Knot into this rubber band with something that looks like a plectrum and had my 6th K word 😁

Thank you so much for your kind compliment, my friend 🙂
This challenge is almost the only thing that can motivate me at the moment to post. There's just so much to do at work and after work I prefer to be outdoors riding my bike or walking and photographing.

I hope everything is still fine and you and your family are well.
Thanks a lot for the !BEER - cheers and have a great weekend, @cezary-io 🙂

I completely understand. If you enjoy your work and the weather is good for bike ride, if I was you, I would do exactly the same.
Having fun in your life and enjoying staff you do, that's precious.
I am doing good, back to work almost full time. Unfortunately my better half got some infection and is on antibiotics. But she is recovering slowly.

Have a great weekend @johannpiber and enjoy every second of it. !BEER

Take care of your wife that she gets healthy again and have a wonderful weekend @cezary-io 🙂

Haha, I do enjoy my work - the last 5 minutes every Friday if I don't have to work on the weekend ;) lol

So people over there have also forgotten everything that happened in the past months? Here it is the same, but I'm still optimistic that our government will do the right thing and that the people are smart enough to understand.

We have a rainy day, but the weekend is going to be a hot Summer weekend 🙂 I hope your weekend will be nice too.

It looked like a really nice day for a kamikaze ride, you could have had another K word from the ride.

because after this ride the steel mounting plate of my Vance&Hines exhaust broke.

So something went kaput, broke. But finishing with knot was a good choice.

Actually I thought of using kaput in my post, because I have seen that you use the word in English too, but somehow I forgot about it. The only difference is that we use two "t" at the end of the word - kaputt 😉
I have really been searching for the sixth word and was happy that the knot came into my mind 😉

Thanks a lot for your nice comment, @bashadow, have a very nice afternoon 🙂

I also have a few of these ridiculous stories but my modesty prevents me from telling them lol.

All that I can say is that we men can really do some silly things in our absent mindedness. Especially when we are deep in thought.
Half of the time my wife speaks to me when I am on another planet and I don't even hear her, shame.
But my trick is just to say "yes darling" hahaha.

One day she will ask me; "Do you know that I put rat poison in your coffee"?
And I will simply say "Yes darling" lol.

Such is life my friend and I really doubt that she will go to such extremes hahaha

Cheers and thank you!

I'm different, because I don't even notice that she or someone else talks to me when I'm very deep thinking of something or even when I'm editing photos I'm sometimes far away with my thoughts.

Guilty as charged, but I think that they get used to us and only tell us the important stuff when they know that we are ready to hear it ha!
Normally my one will start with an alert like "oh my goodness have you heard", or something else to get me all ears hahaha.
Once she has my attention she will start with one of those very detailed stories that I lose interest in halfway through and if she sees this, she would quickly tell me the reason for the alert before she loses her audience lol.

Such is life my friend.

Cheers and thank you!

Over here we say that she "worrah, worrah, worrah..."

Hahaha, I know such women - whe have them in our neighborhood. Yeah, and it is a fact that women raise their voices to be heard by their husbands in close proximity. But not if their husband is a kilometer away.

We also have 11 or 14 official languages here, but I can only speak two and in about 4 others I only know the swear words hahaha. We have many people here that can speak most of the languages and how they do it is beyond me.
Of course to greet and to ask for beer would be your main priorities hahaha.

These are quite a lot of languages - here we have also a few official used languages in addition to German. These depend on the region where the minorities live, which speak that language.

Hopefully this will give you an idea about the forests of languages that we have here Sir Johann!

"South Africa has 11 official languages: Zulu, Xhosa, Afrikaans, English, Northern Sotho, Tswana, Southern Sotho, Tsonga, Swazi, Venda, and Southern Ndebele (in order of first language speakers). In this regard it is fourth only to Bolivia, India, and Zimbabwe in number".

"At least thirty-five languages indigenous to South Africa are spoken in the Republic, ten of which are official languages of South Africa: Ndebele, Northern Sotho, Sotho, Swati, Tsonga, Tswana, Venḓa, Xhosa, Zulu and Afrikaans".

I haven't even heard of most of these languages before. So, we can be glad that we have just a few additional official used languages. Maybe if we'd count the languages of the migrants who still come here every day, we'd have more languages than you gave 😉

It seems that migrants are arriving the world over every day Sir Johann.
The world is slowly becoming multi national before our eyes.
I think that this is the plan of a group that is a pushing a "One World Order".
One monetary demoniation and everyone walking around with a chip in their heads.
Frightening stuff, as there is no one that will try to put a chip in me Lol.

I don't mind anybody who comes, as long as he or she knows how to behave, just as we have to behave us in their or other countries, if you know what I mean 😉
If they want to call our home their new home they have to leave their old home behind and live on our rules.

Well we can only hope for the best for you guys.
Unfortunately as the numbers increase the bad comes in with the good.
International crime syndicates are active all over the world and they filter their own people in amongst the new residents.

In my school days there was vey little drug abuse in the communities, but now it hasv become so bad that they even sell drugs inside the schools.
Daylight robberies has escalated to unmanageable degrees and farm murderers are running rampant.
Not a very nice situation to be in.

Well then you can imagine how it was at my time. You are correct as alcohol was the only drug.

It is said that wherever a church is built, satan builds his temple in the backyard.
Meaning that with the good comes the bad.

The biggest problem is when the cops also become corrupt.
Hope that is not the case in your country!

Ying and Yang, good and bad - they belong together. There wouldn't be any good if nothing was bad and vice versa ... maybe I shouldn't have got up this morning ;) lol

As said before, corruption is everywhere, but the "normal" cops are not really corrupt - a coffee or a bottle wine for christmas but anything else can lead to big problems. I cannot say the same for the decision-makers in the high salary classes though.

This special mountain goat has a coffee in the morning before she/he rides in the Harley to work.

Well, we say "the goat" and "she" because goat is female for us, but since I'm the goat I said she/he 😆 To say "it" didn't sound right.

Ah! So in Austria you call a Ram goat a she?
What's wrong with you guys, can't you see that HE has a fitted tool box?
I would really be offended if I was a he goat and some hill billies called me a she goat.

The Red Bait is easy to get to you, as I will use the smuggling syndicates and there will even be a box for your minister hahaha.

Spilling blood means murder my friend and I do seriously think that you are still breathing.
On a serious note, it is really getting out of hand over here. Assasinations, GBV (Gender Based Violence), children and farmers are the targets. We hear about it every day on the news.

The name goat is female in German in general what means you say "the goat" and we say "die Ziege" ("die" = female) while you say "the ram goat" and we say "der Ziegenbock" ("der" = male). German is complicated ... a horse for example is none oth both: "das Pferd" ("das" = neuter), but the stallion is male 😆

I wonder is the minister has someone who has to try it before he eats it himself ;)

Aha, I haven't heard that phrase before and just learned something new. Hope I don't forget it, but I also hope I will never have to say the same about getting out of hand over here. Such crimes are still seldom here.

Thank you for the lesson in German my friend and you are right about German being complicated.
"das Pferd" and "das Pfgoat" doesn't work because of the "g" in there.

I am sure that nobody would eat it lol.

It is actually a biblical term; Bloodshed defiles the land.
We so pray and wish that it will end as sadly it is the way of those that do not view life as sacred.

Joking with you of course. I have a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification and still get things wrong. Yes I can blame and say that English has too many words, but at times it is my own mistakes.
I am sure that you write German much better than I write English hahaha.

No I don't speak German, but I love Eisbein and Sauerkraut!
Sauerkraut especially as the word has so many vowel together 🤣

Sauerkraut is Sauerkraut. There are also different words for the Eisbein, but in Austria Stelze (e.g. Haxe) is most common I think.

I get sometimes even annoyed when I have to explain easy things on the computer to some of my co-workers, never ever could I be a teacher😂

But sometimes even "want" doesn't work, because I want to win the lottery but it didn't happen yet 🤣 lol

Hahaha, so right and of course they were always the loudest in class, so they will not return to face the shame of having to repeat the course. The real shame is in fact the matter that they don't repeat.
We had one guy that did repeat, but it was because he was French and he struggled with the English language.
He made it the second time round and we were proud of him!

Haha !can you believe I had never noticed your photo was a slice of kiwi..? 😁 Now you owe me an explanation of why this slice, indeed 😄

How strange that you find there are not a lot of english words starting with K..! I found a lot that were easy to illustrate, not the very conceptual words like for exemple with the letter A...this is fun that letters give us a different challenge, this is probably because we speak a foreign language, so we are used to different way of thinking than the native english speakers ... 😉

Anyway, this is a great and well done selection @johannpiber ! !BEERS

Haha 😆 and I thought everybody would notice that it is a Kiwi 😂

Many years ago when I shot my first macros I shot also quite a few macros of a Kiwi slice and I liked one so very much that I have been using it for almost twenty years now - simple answer 😉

I should better have said that I had some problems to find or take photos to illustrate the words. If I could draw like you can I wouldn't have had any problems to use Kilimandscharo or Kangaroo 😁. But maybe "problems" would have been the wrong word anyway - it was great fun because it made me think more than usual ;) lol

Cheers and !BEER and have a very good night Barbara 🙂

You know, I might be the only one to not have realized it was a kiwi slice...I sometimes see things months after, this makes my relatives either laugh, or crazy...one day I came to my day job in the restaurant where I was waitress and I told my boss wow.. they planted lovely trees in giant pots on the parking ! and when I saw his dumbfounded face I immediately knew I've just said something hugely insane ...apparently these trees were here for months and he was wondering how I can live in the real world and not see the same things like everybody else does.. 😄

Believe me, similar things like your trees have happened to me too sometimes - especially when my wife comes home from the hair stylist I never see it ;) lol

You were quick finishing your K selections too Johann. The Knautia arvensis flower is lovely. 🌸

I thought of Key and Kaput but couldn’t find anything to go with Kaput like when your exhaust housing went kaput. I was thinking of a vehicle key. Are your keys Allen keys?

The knot is inventive choice. All great selections Johann.👍

Have a lovely evening.😊

Good morning Jo,

I thought this time I'd be the first to post, but I think you and the other two have only been waiting for Barbara's K-post ;) lol - well done Jo 👍
... and I struggled with my sixth word, because I couldn't find the knife I was looking for. Luckily I thought of a knot and could take a quick photo 😉

I have never paid any attention to this flower, but since I take macro photos I can see so much more and like this flower a lot - thank you that you like it too 😀

My keys are two stacks of normal cylinder keys side by side 😉

We had a rainy night and the weatherman says it will rain the whole day - I don't believe him and wish you a wonderful day, Jo 🙂

It was a stroke of luck I got my selections in first Johann. 😊

This morning has been a rip-off! I thought I had a nice 2 min. video of Peppy the skunk but after I loaded it I saw I had used the wrong lens and Peppy’s photo wasn’t as clear as I would like. I deleted it and hope Peppy comes by another morning for his cameo.

It didn’t help that the video, for some reason, was hard to upload.🥴

No sun today. We had a big rain yesterday and it has cooled down

I hope your day is better Johann.

Of course there will soon be another morning when you have the correct lens and Peppy will pose for you 😉

I'll have to tell my friend that he's a skunk ... His name is Josef and here we call somebody with that name Sepp or Seppi or also Peppi 😆 lol

I packed my photo backpack and drove to one of my favorite places in Slovenia, the Sunikov vodni gaj - Sunik water grove. It was an overcast day, but I also saw the sun, what I didn't like anyway, because the sunlight and waterfall photography don't go together. I haven't seen the photos yet, but I think hope I got some nice ones 😉

Tomorrow we will both have sunshine, Jo, I am sure 🔆

Your friend might not like having a skunk named after hm.😄 I thought Peppy /Pepi was a nice name for the little stinker after the cartoon skunk, Pepe Le Pew. :)

I hope you got some nice shots from your trip to Slovenia Johann.

The sun did shine today. Wishing you a wonderful tomorrow. ☀️

Oh, he wouldn't mind, he is a little stinker anyway ;) lol
No he isn't, he is a nice guy who works in our headquarter in Vienna, and whom I need from time to time 😉

Yes, I think there are a few nice waterfall shots, but they'll have to wait a few days, because I have to edit older images first. But I need them next week anyway, because that place is in the Lepena Valley ;) lol

Hopefully the sun will shine tomorrow too and you'll have a wonderful weekend Jo 😀

I have made a quite long ride through our little country today. I was really looking , but I couldn't see any Lambs anywhere, although I have been in a very rural region too, but I have seen little cows, so called calves 😉

I'm a little bit tired from my ride today, so I just wish you a wonderfull afternoon and Sunday, Jo 🙂

Great K words and wonderful photos!

Kamikaze is a great word for that motorcycle ride. It definitely look like it was too fast for conditions of the pavement of that road. What a beautiful road to go for a ride on though. I think you must live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.

Kamikaze ride reminds me of the Black Forest region, beautiful pines, narrow roads, letting go, knowing the freedom of the road.

Key photography excellent creative use, as is the keyboard and knot.

Kiwi fruit and flower you are knowledgeable in detail and a knock-out in photography once again!

Have an amazing day.

So much to learn with photo manipulation it can be fun, very time consuming when learning.

Very fortunate to have had to opportunity to travel in 1973 and again in 1978 visiting Europe and Scandinavia not allowed over to Eastern countries those days which I always have kept on the bucket list....🙃

That's true, it takes quite some time until a photo is ready for the world wide web 😉
In the seventies the iron curtain was still there and nowadays you can travel almost anywhere you want 🙂

Hi @kohsamui99,

"next year" sounds optimistic. We have had almost no restrictions anymore until yesterday. Now at least on the tourist hot spots you have to wear a mask again. Too many !BEER made the people forget and careless.

Excellent K words! @johannpiber

That's too bad your son decided not to continue learning to play the keyboard but he, or someone else in the family, might decide to pick it up again in the future. It's a good thing you didn't buy him a piano!🎹

Yes, I am very glad that our apartment is too small, because we even might have bought him a used piano. No one of our families plays an instrument, so we have been very happy that he decided to take music as a major subject at school.
Now our daughter takes the keyboard from time to time and plays it, but just for fun, she doesn't want to learn playing 😉
