I found I ... AlphabetHunt

avatar

And another week is over in the #AlphabetHunt hosted by Barbara @barbara-orenya in the Feel Good Community: illustrate 6 words (or concepts) starting with the letter of the week.

This week we hunt the Letter "I": #AlphabetHunt letter I - and the winners of the lucky draw for the #H week.

I found some I
#AlphabetHunt
Hive AlphabetHunt - Letter I

Isolation

Last year I have made a little photography experiment with water, oil and colored lights, and this photo was the only one which I liked enough to keep it and use the image in a post one day.

Of course, to somehow fit the image to the word Isolation I had to do a little photoshopping.

Ivy

Last year we visited my niece and her family in Lower Austria. One day we have been to the city of Melk where I have noticed these old ivy overgrown houses.

Insect Hotel

On a morning walk I saw this little yellow flower and inside the blossom I saw a sleeping beetle. Only at home on the big monitor I could see that at least 4 more little insects have chosen to spend the night in this blossom. That was reason enough for me to title the photo Insect Hotel.

Ice

@karishmasingh711 had the idea of ice when we were talking about the next letter we would have to hunt, which actually was the I, and I didn't forget about it 😉

These are just some snapshots from last Winter, which was cold, but not very icy nor did it snow a lot. So I really had to search for ice and icicles and take almost anything I found.

Island

I have already posted a photo of this little Island in the Fog back in January this year, but since I had taken a few more shots I thought it would fit to the hunt for the I.

Irritating

Have you ever seen such a tree trunk?

On my last forest walk I came across this tree and when I saw the black tree trunk under the tree bark I was really irritated. Somehow parts of the tree bark have been removed at the ground, what has revealed black wood.

Was it a lightning? I couldn't see any evidence for a lightning strike and what has removed the bark? I still have no idea.

I

Why I? Just because that's me, and if I have counted right it's even a bonus word. I know it's short, but it still ist a word, isn't it 😉

Of course, when @HiveBuzz announced the new HiveBuzz shop (https://peakd.com/hivebuzz/@hivebuzz/shop) I immediatelly had to order some of the shirts with the Hive logo.

After @pixelfan posted a selfie, wearing a Hive face mask (Well, I did it…) I thought I could do the same, with one difference though: I used a white Hive T-shirt as full face mask - can this still be called a selfie? But maybe it's better for your eyes if you don't see my face 😉 lol

Hive AlphabetHunt I and my HiveBuzz Hoodie
Photo: Canon EOS R

T-shirt and Hoodie are both from the HiveBuzz shop. The Hoodie has a big Hive logo on the back, but there are many more designs available, and you can also wear the T-shirt as normal, of course 😉

Don't wait, have yourself a look at shop.hivebuzz.me.

So, this was my "I" post for this week's AlphabetHunt. I hope you enjoyed it a bit 😊

Information

All photos were shot with the Canon EOS R and one of these lenses: Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM, Canon EF 16-35mm 1:4 L IS USM, Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 L STM, SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM, SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C.

I leave all EXIF and IPTC information stored in the pictures.

If you like my photos I would appreciate an upvote, nice comment or maybe you want to share my post on your blog 😊 ... and maybe you would like to follow me, so that you never miss a post from me.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog,
have a nice evening,

Your Isolation image is very nice, it does look like the little red drop has been isolated from the rest. I also love the Ivy homes. It is amazing how such a beautiful looking plant can bring down a solid home. Even know that I still love the way Ivy looks when climbing a brick wall. Especially a red brick wall.

Good evening and thank you so much for commenting my photos, @bashadow 🙂
Yes, I also like such houses too which are overgrown with Ivy. There are quite a lot old houses and villas here which are all green overgrown. Even my parent's house has been half overgrown years ago, before the facade of the house has been renovated and one wall is still fully green 🙂

Johann, now that’s not a fair selfie but nice T-shirt and cute I for I selection.🤣

I have picked two the same, Insect and Island with something close to Ice. I didn’t copy.. honest.

Isolation of the drop and ivy on the house are great.

Love your selections Johann.👍

You got ahead of me Johann. 😄I had mine all ready to go to be first but not quick enough. 😭

Most welcome and you know I always look forward to your posts and comments.

Now I’ve got to get on the ball for the J selection search.🤔 😊

Have a good night Johann. I wished you good evening already . :)

I always schedule my posts at 7pm. I was hoping to be the first, but I wouldn't have changed my usual time for that ;)

The J will be hard I believe ... maybe another false selfie called Johann or Jo ... 😉

Johann. You got me wondering if you are disfigured in some way, like the Elephant man or maybe so handsome the ladies would swoon. 🤔😀

Now seriously, I don’t like my picture taken either. The one on my driver’s license looks like a criminal about to be executed.😬

Have a good night and wonderful weekend.😊

Good morning Jo,

I can calm you down, I'm not looking like the Elephant man or Quasimodo ... or maybe I have just got used of that thing that looks out of the mirror every morning 😂
You don't want to see my drivers license photo either - you could scare children with it ;) lol

I wish you also a wonderful weekend with lots of sunshine, Jo 🔆

You had me laughing with “that thing that looks out of the mirror every morning.” 😭

I shouldn’t complain about the heat after waiting for it so long but yesterday it was above my comfort level. Today is suppose to be cooler but with sunny skies and a nice breeze.

Have a wonderful afternoon Johann 😊

It worked 😁 lol

I also don't like it when it's too hot. We had a cloudy day with many dark storm clouds, but it didn't rain and it was quite windy, but warm.
This morning we sold my son's motorbike because he wants to buy a bigger bike in August. Then he will ride even faster and we will worry even more when he's on the road.

I hope you have also a very nice day Jo, and hopefully it is not too hot again 🙂

Evening Johann or rather good night :) 🕜

Today was much nicer but I think the air conditioner will have to be put in the window as we may have a hot summer.

It is a parents worse nightmare that anything should happen to their children. Life can change in a blink of an eye.

I think you have been a good example and your son has a good head on his shoulders to drive carefully with the bigger bike.

Happy Summer Solstice Johann.☀️😊

For me it's a good Sunday morning, Jo 😉 ... although it looks more gray than sunny at the moment.

Yeah, I know what you want to say. I can still see him lying in the hospital bed after his accident 2 years ago, and I can imagine how you felt and still feel about your loss.
He is still too young to put safety over fun, and I can understand him, but I hope he doesn't overdo it and fun becomes stupid.

I have completely forgotten about the Summer Solstice and that today the Summer has begun ;)
So, happy Summer Solstice, Jo, and a wonderful not too hot Sunday 🔆

You won’t see this until the morning. I keep trying to reply but a friend was on messenger and we were typing back and forth. Finally i said i was going to bed. Not a complete lie for I am as soon as I finish.

Thanks for your understanding of my loss. Johann. Kevin never made it to the hospital as it was instant. He had hit black ice and the car rolled.

I can feel how frightening it was to see your son in the hospital bed. Already having an accident and hospital stay, then he knows to be careful, It is natural you will worry when he takes the bike out and I pray all will be fine.

Have a wonderful week Johann. 😊 I see a cloudy day is forecast for you but up to 25 C,

Usually I reply to the comments at 6 when I'm at the office before I do any other work, but there was so much to do today that I have just before found some time to reply to all.

It's 11am now, the sky is blue with some white clouds and we have about 23C / 74F - seems the Canadian weatherman knows more than ours ;) lol

Oh yes, thank you for your nice words Jo, he will be riding careful, I'm sure, but when he sees his friends making wheelies and such he will try that too, but I hope he will still be careful.

I wish you a great week too Jo 🙂

Just WOW! Such a cool selection of words and illustrations to them!

The last one is beyond comparison 🤗😎👍👍👍 You are a real Hive fan, but I disagree with your statement about seeing your face, we are opened community and want to decide ourselves what's better for us 😉😄

The sleeping bee is so sweet, I have mo words. And ... I never thought of where and how do they sleep, mm... Amazing shot!

Oh, and the Island ❤💕💘 is too charming. Great photos indeed 🙂

Have a great evening (or morning)

Good morning dear @zirochka,

it is better for the world not to see my face because that would only cause a lot of envy 😉 lol ... maybe one day in the future there will be a recognizable photo of me online, but until now I wouldn't know of any ;)

Now, I had to look if I made a typo, but I did write beetle, because the bees sleep in the Hive where their queen sleeps, so your autocorrection must have deleted the last 3 letters ;)
This one looks even better ;)

Thank you so much for your kind words on my photos, my dear, I really appreciate your comments.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend 🙂

Good morning, Johann! Now my turn to look closer at the parent post and did I type 😄

Since my Android got next update, typing turned into a pain and shame. The space screen key has become smaller and I often miss it. Sometimes I press dot, and sometimes I miss other keys and type a backspace 😆😆😆 The drawback of esteem is it has no option of zoom, such as a ordinal brower client.

Okay, anyway I am amways happy to talk to you ☺ I started to write my comment a day ago but that Friday was just crazy...

I wish you a nice weekend!

OoOh the last one of the tree bark is intriguing to me ! 😉
Ice is one word I have decided no to take, but your icy shots are great...and I love the walls with ivy , they are generally old stone houses with a lot of charm that the green touch enhances even more 😊
I don't know why I didn't see your post earlier...I think I didn't see your mention, luckily I stumbled upon when checking the community posts before going to some rest for the night 😁

I like such ivy overgrown houses for the same reasons a lot too. Bevor they renovated the house, my parent's house was partly overgrown too. Now there's only one wall beside the house and a small part left.

Great selections for the letter I @johannpiber! Island, ice and ivy are my favorites! I have my photos ready but still have to finish writing it up so will probably post it next week. At first I have to thank you so much for your kind compliment on my post and photos, dear @deerjay, and I am looking forward to your post 🙂

I'm trying to write honest and serious comments and you say I'm silly and funny? And if that was not enough you compare me with @pixelfan? Well, I'm speechless, because nobody before has called me silly ... they called me stupid, mad, crazy or other words (once an Italian girl said to me "sei stupido" and then she smiled 😉) but I can't remember that I have heard silly 😂
And: this comparison with @pixelfan is not correct, because I am Austrian and he is Belgian. Austria starts with an A which comes before the B. In my eye that means that he is as silly and funny as I am and not the other way round 🤪

It is raining outside, but you made my day - I wish you a wonderful weekend @deerjay 🙂🔆 ... and I hope you don't mind my silly sayings above ;)

You're very welcome @johannpiber! 🙂
Well, if it makes you feel better than I have been called most of those names and more and as a matter of fact just a couple of days ago I was called two of those names by members of my own family..can you believe that..lol. True story so I guess we are in good company! 😉 😁
I've been sick the last couple of days but reading your "silly sayings" has made me laugh and feel a little better..thanks! 😊 💖

😉 lol

Such words shouldn't be used via family members, at least not seriously, but I think it's the same everywhere 😉

My daughter had a visit of a few of her friends the other day. They had much fun in my daughter's room - it was like on a little chicken farm ;) lol
So I can only blame them for writing such a silly comment, because listening to this chicken cackle messed up my usually serious thinking brain 🤪 (... I hope my daughter will never read this 😉 lol)

But anyway, it's cool that my silliness could help you feeling better, @deerjay, and I hope you will be completely healthy soon 👍🙂

Perhaps the island in the fog is my favorite, this is a rare shot.
The idea of isolation is very original, congratulations on the find.

I suppose you are the boss, so you will not get into trouble working on Hive during working hours hahaha.
I what community do you post, so that I can also look for your posts? I see this one is in "feelgood"?
Didn't even know there is a feelgood, as I would have tagged them with today's squirrel post.
I post as you know mostly in #ocd.

I'm only a little boss and I could delegate more work to my co-workers than I am actually doing, but I prefer to do it myself, because then I know it is done right 😉

I post to different communities, depending where the post fits best. The #AlphabetHunt posts belong to the feelgood community, but if I post macros I post to Fascinating Insects and so on ... sometimes I post in OCD or GEMS 🙂

It is always best to do things by ourselves, but at times we tend to overload ourselves. I did the same thing at Papillon, but after my second burn out, I decided to let go and to let others.

Ah, so you are a Papillon (butterfly) that flies over many posts to pollinate them.
Good idea my friend 🙂

May your day also be great @johannpiber 😃

I always try to make my work as easy as possible, and mostly it is easier and faster for me to make it myself than to explain and check if the others have done it right.

Maybe you can call me a Papillon ... I try to visit and curate as many posts as possible and give the ones I like a little support 😉

That is the pain isn't it? Others do not think like you do and after the explaining and checking you could have done it in half of the time.
Or if you give it to them to do, as you are too busy, then it takes a lot of time to fix it afterwards.
At times even having to redo the entire job.

Yeah, Papillon is right as you are a good man my friend

Cheers and thank you!

I don't know if I'm good, but I do my best 😉 and you have explained it completely right why I prefer to do most work myself.
My bed is waiting and there's one more reply from you waiting 😁

Fantastic I photos! I love that island photo! And the ivy photos are beautiful! I remember my dad strongly suggesting that I kill the ivy that was growing on the side of a house that I lived in because it was going to ruin the mortar between the bricks. That was 30 years ago and the house and the ivy are both still intact. It must take a lot of time for Ivy to do its damage, and in the meantime it looks beautiful!

I had no idea that @pixelfan is braver than you are! Thanks for directing me to shop.hivebuzz. I may need to order something for myself.

Thank you very much for your nice comment, @melinda010100, I appreciate your kind words 🙂

Ivy can damage a lot, but not everything, as you can see at your house 😉 I think it also depends on the built quality.
Our house and also our neighbors houses have all been fully overgrown with ivy for decades, and all the houses are still intact, although through the years the ivy has become less when they have done some renovating and such. I love such overgrown houses.

I have to admit that you are right, @pixelfan is a lot braver than I am 😉 and I know you will find something nice you like in the @HiveBuzz shop.

Have a wonderful Sunday, Melinda 🔆

Hahaha on being brave! I would model my Hive paraphernalia the same way you did!

My other idea has been to put my helmet on for the selfie, but I liked this better - brave or not brave, we just don't want our private images to be spread over the internet, where they can be seen from anyone forever ... some things have to remain secret ;) lol

Ivy on a house wall can make the home look like a quaint old cottage or a house of horrors, still debating which. Most definitely hiding insects very close to home in ivy too...

I like you selfie, best selfie I have seen so far this year, motivational, inspirational and intriguing LOL....

I can see you had a lot of fun in isolation enjoying ice photography as well, have an amazing Sunday Johann.

I'd take the "quaint old cottage" if you asked me, because otherwise I would have grown up in a horror house - my parent's house is still partly ivy overgrown on one side 😉 lol

I tried to make the selfie alone, but I couldn't see what I was doing, so I had to ask my wife to see if everything looks ok and press the shutter button - thanks that you like it 😁

I think the measures haven't been that bad, because I had most places completely for me alone ;) The only bad thing was that I couldn't go anywhere I wanted.

Thanks for the kind comment and for the tip, Joan, I wish you a nice rest of Sunday and a great week ahead 🙂

Ivy growing up a house in cold regions does not appear to present problems, looks very attractive, not so much in hotter climate.

Wishing you a wonderful new week enjoying to the full!

That is certainly right, of course, and I think our houses are built a bit different too (my parent's house has 1 meter thick stone walls).

I wish you also a great week Joan 🙂

Old stone buildings are always attractive, thickness of wall keeps warmth in during winter, cooler in summer months.

Usually stones sourced locally adding history to the home 😄

Well, our house stands at a steep forest and does not get much sunlight - in Summer it's cool inside, that's right, but it's also cool in Winter 😉 The house is quite old, but unfortunately there's no paperwork that tells us something about the age or the owners before my family moved in over hundred years ago.

Have a great day Joan 🙂

Detail lost in history is so frustrating, oh dear if the house in a forest that must be extremely cold in winter. Old stone fireplace must be put to good use still, it sounds like an exceptional place to live.

I should better have written "at the edge of a steep forest", because the forest begins right behind the house ;)
So, it's not that bad in winter, but heating the whole big house needed quite some firewood. Luckily my parents installed an oil central heating last year, because carrying so much firewood to the house each day was getting too hardin their age.

It would be nice to know more about the house, but since we are not related to the former owners it doesn't matter that much. My father's great grandmother moved here from another valley because she was pregnant from an "unknown" man ... ;)

That sounds weird, I know, but it's an old village with all old houses. Unfortunately they have modernized the houses during the years, so that many things like vaults or archs are not existant anymore in the houses.

so true! I never was able to have both these pleasures at once, tho. @joanstewart, right now we have a small sprouts of hops trying to build something far less massive on our wooden wall :)

I knew that ice and insects will be heavily used in this hunt, so I tried to be the first one to post these words 😉 lol
Thanks a lot for liking my post, @suzana72, have a wonderful Sunday evening and a great week ahead 🙂

I just love your 'I' alphabet blog @johannpiber
You have put a lot of work into it and Your idea to call that little bug 'Insect Hotel' was rather innovative.
I was also interested to read what your thoughts were regarding that tree trunk. If parts of the bark had been removed by humans it would have really irritated me too. But if this is the result of nature, then I find it quite artistic.

Enjoy the week ahead Johann.

Thank you so much for your nice words, Trudee @trudeehunter, I appreciate your kind comment on my post.

The Insect Hotel was my first thought when I saw the other small insects sleeping in that blossom 😉
I have found out that it probably is some kind of a tree disease, but I'll have to search more when I have enough time.

Have a great day and week @trudeehunter 🙂

It is incredible to see how in a certain part of the world there is this plant that literally eats the house, it shows me how it looks. His photographs are great. I liked the island that has its reflection, it looks like a mirror on the floor, really nice @johannpiber. Thank you.

Most of these houses here have very thick stone walls, so the plant has a lot to eat to be able to damage anything ;)
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my photos, @isabelpena, I appreciate it a lot 🙂

it was very brave, to use the 'I' word. and it turned into a funny selfie (especially the 2nd photo, from the back). thanks god, no harm to my eyes was implemented xD

I enjoyed the Isolation pretty much, but maybe this splendid image better suits to 'Nonconformism', what do you think?

'Ivy' probably was my fave entry.
'Insect hotel' -- or Insect Pub, as some folks name it - also awesome entry, tho the photo wasnt so convincing as the picture we often use to see in real life. but still, I enjoy the entry very much. (I was having the Insects word in my ming, but this I.Hotel is far better, cause contains more joy in it).

Ice and Island is what I completely forgot about! (tho I was considering the ice-cream, I totally, blindly forgot that I have ice pictuers in my pocket too).

That was my intention - I didn't want to offend anybody by showing my face 😉 lol ... but I'm sure your eyes wouldn't be harmed, maybe a bit blinded though 😂

Good idea, maybe I could use the photo again when we are hunting the N, but the Hivecleaners might catch me ;)

Thank you also very much for the nice compliments on my other photos, @qwerrie, the letter I was really nice to hunt, but the next letter will be more challenging I think.

Have a great day 🙂
