Alphabet Hunt Challenge ~ Letter K

This is my entry in the Alphabet Hunt Challenge by @barbara-orenya. You can read more about the Alphabet Hunt and how to join in HERE!

Here are my six (or so) photos representing the letter K ...

1. King and Queen Seat
The King and Queen Seat is a natural rock formation at Rocks State Park in Harford County, Maryland that is part of an outcrop that is 190 feet high. People are allowed to venture out all the way onto the outcrop but be warned as several people have fallen and most don't survive. I've been out about halfway and that was far enough for me. I never realized that I could have a fear of heights before or maybe it was my Guardian Angel saying halfway was far enough. Luckily, there are plenty of nice views of the King and Queen Seat without having to venture onto the outcrop. These two photos show the King and Queen Seat in both Summer and late Fall. I think the late Fall version looks way more dramatic!

2. Kilgore Falls
Kilgore Falls is also part of Rocks State Park in Harford County, Maryland. It is located at the Falling Branch Area. There is a scenic trail that takes you right up to the Falls. It can get crowded during the summer as people are allowed to go into the water. On my last visit there I did actually go into the water but I fell in! This was where I dunked my camera in the water but I'm happy to say that the camera is still working with only a glitch here and there. I didn't really work right before that dunking and still don't but, hey, I am able to laugh at myself...lol.

3. Koi
I photographed these Koi fish at Valley View Farms which is a large nursery located in Baltimore County, Maryland. They sell everything for your garden including plants, trees, garden decor, ponds and Koi to go in those ponds. It is a great place to visit and I always love to check out the ponds on the property and the Koi when I'm there.

4. Kwanzan Cherry Tree
This is a Kwanzan Cherry Tree with double pink flowers. Double pink means that you get twice as many flowers. I found these near a park that I frequented when I was a child and young adult. These beautiful trees weren't there way back then which made them an even nicer surprise when I saw them. So Beautiful!

5. Kitten
Here is a baby picture of Sylvester when she was a kitten! Ain't she cute?! Sylvester was named by my children before we found out that she was a girl. I call her Syl sometimes which stands for Sylvester or Sylvia. I think she will always be known as Sylvester but she is very much loved either way! 💖

6. Kept and Knickerbocker
Okay..this is a twofer entry! It is a little stuffed toy of Curious George that I kept from my childhood and was made by the Knickerbocker Toy Company. Knickerbocker Toy Company was originally located in New York and later moved to New Jersey. They made some great toys but sadly closed down at the end of the 1980's. My collage shows the original along with a few edits that I did.

Guess what else? This little guy has a wind up and still plays! I thought that you might like to hear it but it is kinda' low so you may have to turn the volume up a bit!

Yawn...I think it's time for a nap! 😴
