Photochain Challenge 61st Edition - Books & Hand: The Secret Garden

This is my entry for the Photochain Challenge created and hosted by @davidesimoncini

For this 61st Edition of the PhotoChain challenge the KEY-SUBJECTS are: BOOKS + HAND and the third key-subject I chose for my participation was PARK!

Now, even though anyone can participate in this challenge by submitting the photo plus the respective comment in the comment section of the Challenge Start, you can also post the image in your blog; and I think that is a nice opportunity to talk a little bit about the creativity/inspiration behind your participation, right?

So, this is basically why I decided to make this post and not only leave my photo in the comments section, and also because I really struggled to choose the image I would use. I actually had 3 more photos I wanted to use and now want to show them here.

I really like this photo because of the four spotlights in it and that it would just simplify the third key-subject to Grass, however I couldn't choose between the color and B&W versions. I think in both cases the 4 spotlights give some kind of intriguing effect to the picture and the book itself.

The reason I also liked this one was because of the overall B&W effect, how the contrast played in here and made the book look even more mysterious, but I think I didn't choose it as the hand isn't very visible.

I finally decided to participate with the first image above as I think the light and colors in there matched the book better.

What do you think? Please feel free to tell me what you think of these shots!

Thank you very much for passing by and reading till here! :)

I have to say that I take the B&W version. It calls you, like inviting you to read. Also has a proper mist of mystery as you say.

What can you tell me about this novel?
It's very intriguing. I hope you were trying to make it look that way.

hahah I was indeed trying to make it look intriguing and mysterious xD

It's a pretty nice short story, totally fits the mystery genre, highly recommended!

I really like the composition and also the placement of your hand in the photo you chose for the challenge. The sunlight beam across the forehead of the figure on the book cover is very appealing.

I liked reading what you wrote and also the inclusion of the other photos you did not select. Well done!
