Tracy

Tracy wiped the tears that was threatening to spill out any minute as she watched her best friend Chris take his vows. The vows wasn't what was making her cry neither were those tears of joy.

Tracy and Chris had both been best friends since forever. They both liked each other right from when they were five, when Chris family moved into the same estate where Tracy lived with her family. They had both attended the same high school. Tracy smiled as she remembered one time when she helped Chris get revenge at a bully who tormented him back then in school.

Tracy also remembered how she had begged her parents to let her attend Stone Hill college right after Chris told her that he would be going there for college. She had done all of this, hoping that maybe one day Chris would see how she truly felt about him and they would be together.

But even in college, Chris had gone out with other girls and whenever he got his heart broken, she was always there to console him and put him back on his feet. Tracy went out on dates too during college but none of them really lasted that long. She felt no one understood her better like the way Chris did.

But Chris had been oblivion to all of this. He had even help set her up with some of his friends, hoping that she would like one of them but what he didn't know was that he was the one she wanted. Thoughts of her telling Chris about how she felt about him crossed her mind on multiple occasions but she was scared of what would happen to their friendship if he turned her down, so she told herself not to say anything. She wouldn't forgive herself if anything bad happened to their friendship. She had told herself that everything will work out soon enough but reality dawned on her when Chris sent her a copy of his wedding invitation card. Tracy had told him how happy she was for him but inside of her she was wailing, begging for the earth to swallow her up. But there was nothing she could do except to be present at the wedding even though she didn't want to go.

So as Tracy stood at the church and watched Chris take his vow with his wife to be, all she did was smile and allow the tears run down her cheek.
