STAYING GROUNDED…

Yesterday I had an interesting conversation with my girlfriend and friend about several things late into the night. We spoke about several things, one of them being the reason for success.

We all agreed that staying grounded is one of the reasons people are successful. By 'grounded' we mean being dedicated and seeing things through to the very end. It is this level of doggedness that produces tremendous results.

I have examined most successful people in my sphere and I believe this much is true: they know what they want and they never back down until they get it. In this part of the world, we call it the "we-die-here" attitude.

Most people who amount to nothing tend to be in a state of constant flux. They are neither here nor there. There is no consistency in their actions. You cannot tell what these types of people want.

I have a cousin who is well in her mid-40s. She is a wonderful woman with a big heart. One of the kindest souls I know. Unfortunately, she hasn't made much headway in life. She has a problem with not sticking with one thing.

My cousin is always changing jobs and businesses. She is never in a place for too long. In the long run, she is not grounded enough to achieve a level of mastery in anything.

To become an expert in any field, one must dedicate a significant part of their life to a certain course. It is a difficult and boring journey. However, it produces great results and builds character.

There are certain things one cannot learn from reading. You have to go through certain situations to build character. This builds the right mindset and capacity for success.

HOW DO YOU STAY GROUNDED?

The very first step is identifying what you want as an individual. Wanting to be rich is not a goal. You have to do something to be rich (if that's your goal) and you must certainly love that thing because life will test you.

Nothing is given freely. With every good thing that comes with life, there is a test. One of life's pressing questions is: HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT IT?

If you are going to cower under pressure then you are simply telling life that you don't want it enough and that your fear, limitations are more valid than the things you are pursuing.

Keep your eyes on the prize. Sometimes the journey gets difficult. You need to remind yourself why you started in the first place. This is the time to sober up and look deeper into your soul and find the answers you need.

For someone who easily gets discouraged, I make a conscious effort to remind myself of my goals. This keeps me motivated even when things aren't going right.

I often say this, I am highly motivated in times of crisis. If there is any time to be committed it is when things aren't going well. Those are the times to unlock your potentials and move you on to the next phase of your life.

I hope this piece nudges someone in the right direction. Are you giving up on your goal? Do you find yourself in a difficult position? Then it is time for some soul searching.

If you feel lost then you have to find your way back. You need to ask yourself valid questions. And hopefully, when you find that thing your heart yearns for, you stick with it long enough for it to materialize.

Sometimes the journey gets difficult.

When the journey gets tough only the tough gets going.
Tough situations makes us tougher.

It's sometimes difficult to stay motivated when life doesn't give you what you want. It's discouraging even when you keep trying. I think it's still okay to feel this way sometimes. But, we shouldn't remain there. Pick up the pieces and keep moving. The prize to be won is enough to motivate us through the journey.

picking yourself up to a skill you must develop because never at any point would life stop throwing things at you. there will be downtimes and what you do in those times determine a lot in your future.

I sometimes wish life was a bed of roses. It's a struggle to get up after going through a difficult situation.
Apart from self motivation, having the right person around is also helpful
