The things you do just after you wake up goes a long way in determining whether you would have a productive day or not. So, it's very wise not to do some unnecessary things that could make you unproductive throughout the day. Checking Social Media

You shouldn't check your social media after just waking up, its completely bad and unhealthy. You might get carried away by the information you come across from the social media, which will delay your normal activities, hence, you get to class or work late. By trying to beat the time because you spent some time on your social media just after waking up, you get stressed out just in the early hours of your day, hence, making you less productive.

Snoozing Your Alarm

We have been quilt of this act at some point in our life. Just a little more sleep time. 10 minutes is just what I need. Yeah, I have been there, and the funny about snoozing your alarm, you most likely won't do it once. You snooze 3 times, and that's 30 minutes gone by. Now, you know you are behind your schedule, you start to panick and rush in order to meet up with your schedule, hence, getting you stressed and mentally tired. Also, when you snooze your alarm, you affect your sleep cycle and that's why you most times, wake up, feeling more unrefreshed and tired, hence, your day becomes more unproductive.

Taking In Caffeine Or Nicotine

Drinking that cup of coffee or smoking that cigarette just after waking up is very bad and unhealthy. Your stomach would be empty waking up, and taking a cup of coffee (Caffeine) or smoking a cigarette (Nicotine) is very harmful to your body system over a period of time. Also, our body has a natural alarm clock called Cortisol which controls our emotions, mood, brain alertness, motivation level, etc. A lot of people take a cup of coffee to improve their Cortisol level, so that, they will be more motivated, our alerted and in a greater mood. Yeah, a cup of coffee will feel you with that burst of energy, but the effects might make the rest of your day unproductive. Because when the caffeine in your system goes out, you will feel the opposite effect, you will become less motivated, less alerted and in a sad mood. That's why people who take a cup of coffee just after waking up, get the best from their morning, but their afternoon won't be great, they get home feeling extreme tiredness. A cup of coffee is good, but don't take just after waking up in an empty stomach, eat your breakfast, and take it within the day.
