Introduction

Hello fellow summoners,

For this Splinterlands Quidditch, we will be focusing on the little league ruleset and the battle that commences with that ruleset. Little League often brings me pain and agony since the high mana monsters that I'm used to working with are gone along with the high mana summoners such as zaku, chanesus, and mimosa. I have work-arounds though and some certain strategies in certain rulesets. But I will delve into that very soon. First let's see what the ruleset, manacap, and splinters are available in this battle!

Ruleset of the Battle

1st Rule

image.png

I will start with the first ruleset, being little league. Little league restricts both the monster and summoner mana to 4 mana or lower. This means a max mana usuage of 28 mana so it is very frustrating if you get a high mana cap during this ruleset.

2nd Rule

image.png

The second ruleset is Super Sneak. This means that all melee monsters have the sneak ability and it even overrides other type of backline melee abilities such as opportunity, and reach! You must protect your backline very well in these rulesets.

Mana and Splinters

image.png
Less mana than the max mana usuage but I still end up using less because one should choose their monsters based off of their ability and not the mana cost.

Water is unavailable in this battle meaning no water spam so I'll probably go with a dragon or an earth summoner since earth is my best Splinter.

My Strategy

Summoner

image.png

My summoner that I chose for the battle is Selina Sky paired with the Earth Splinter. Selina gives +1 ranged to all friendly monsters which can be very useful in the Earth Splinters.

Monsters

1st Monster (Tank)

image.png

For my little league tank, I put in Failed Summoner. Failed Summoner is a super cheap tank and has very useful abilities such as Demoralize, Strengthen, and Reflect Magic. It also has a lot of health making it heal-able and a good meatshield.

Second Monster (Support/Tank)

image.png

I put in Swamp Thing here as a second sort of tank. It also does good damage thanks to Selina's +1 ranged ability and has useful abilities such as weaken, and slow.

Third Monster (Attacker)

image.png

Normally I put my attackers near the back but since it is little league and I expect more back-line attackers, I will put it nearer to the front. Child of the Forest is a super good attacker since he has high speed and lots of damage especially with Selina's attack boost.

Fourth Monster (Support)

image.png

I want to put a support troop near the middle and Khmer Princess fits the bill for this battle. Not only does Khmer Princess heals my failed summoner but it also heals my backline monsters which will be useful if my opponent uses a lot of melee monsters.

Fifth Monster (Support/Attacker)

image.png

Tower Griffin is going to be my 2nd last monster. It gives the useful ability of protect and it also does a total of 3 damage with Selina's damage boost.

Sixth Monster (Meatshield against Sneak)

image.png

Because I have to take the super sneak into consideration, I will put a dodger in the back, namely Cockatrice. Cocatrice's weakness is magic attacks but since there are barely any magic attackers, Cockatrice will be best in stopping the melee attacks coming in.

Battle Analysis

Turn 1

image.png

My opponent's team is surprisingly devoid of a lot of melee monsters. My opponent is using a mix of all types of attacks and is not taking advantage of the super sneak ruleset though the earth elemental at the back tells me that he is aware of it since earth elemental is a very good counter against sneak monsters. He also lacks snipe counter and my child of the forest is going to take advantage of it. His damage output is amazing though and brings down my failed summoner on the first turn! I managed to take out the nymph with a combo from my child of the forest and failed summoner's reflect magic. Cockatrice is working though and his brownie is missing its hits.

Turn 2

image.png

The battle is looking really close right now. At the start, the Browie missed (again) and my Child of the Forest managed to take out the Magi before moving up to the front after the Minotaur warrior destroys my swamp thing which was damaged badly with the magi attack. My griffin took out the warrior and both the swamp thing and earth elemental missed my child of the forest.

Turn 3

image.png

The brownie took the shield off my child of the forest and my griffin takes out the brownie moving the Swamp Thing up. Earth Elemental heavily damaged my Child of the Forest.

Turn 4 - 5

image.png

Took these 2 turns taking out the swamp thing moving the earth elemental up and ensuring my victory.

Summary

It was a good match played by my opponent. His damage focusing attacks went through my monsters really quickly but at the end, my support troops along with some good damage by my child of the forest and tower griffin ended him. If he had focused more on snipe counters I would have lost and my Cockatrice was unnecessary in this battle but a good precautionary measure.

That is all from me in this battle and as always, BATTLE ON!

Selenia Sky Summoner is always a better option and the lineup is so good.

Good luck bro :)
