I am very happy to participate again in a new writing contest sponsored by @bdcommunity, sharing our incredible and interesting battles of this great game that is @splinterlands. This time the "Splinterlands Quidditch year #2" surprised me, finding a battle with the "Little League" rule, was a quite complicated task, this was due to the league I am in "Champions II", also it lasted quite a long time so this one could finally come out and even though we could present a battle was won or lost, I love winning and it is always what I am looking for.

For this week's challenge I had the opportunity to choose again my strongest "Splinter" which is from "Death", the battles at this point of the season are very intense, everyone becomes really competitive with the only goal of reaching the highest leagues, so it was a challenge to beat my opponent with this rule, but I will give every detail of my battle so I hope you are ready to witness an exciting battle.

As I did in the last contest, I will detail every aspect of my battle in the following order:

  • Set of rules.
  • Alignment and Strategy.
  • Pros and Cons of the Strategy.
  • Conclusions.

Now if you're ready to enter the world of Splinterlands Quidditch...

Close Range and Little league along with 19 mana

We already know that one of the intrinsic rules of battle would have to be Little League, rarely a fight is reproduced with only one, so I'll still detail what each one is about so that everyone knows in detail how each one works.

Liattle League The main rule for this challenge and one that is quite easy to understand. Simply in this rule we can only use monsters and summoners that cost 4 mana or less can be used in battles.

Close Range This rule is also quite easy to understand and play in some cases. What it means is that monsters that have range attack will be able to fight in the first position in battles, in short they can also work as a tank, so it would be very good to use them in battle.

Zintar Mortalis

My chosen summoner for this battle and I will explain why. Even though I could have used my epic summoner "Jarlax", I preferred to use my "Zintar" and his native ability, which allows me to decrease my opponent's melee attack by 1 point, so if your thinking about using monsters with the "Sneak" ability to destroy my baseline, thanks to it I greatly decreased the damage I could have done to my monsters.

Animated Corpse

My tank was chosen for this lowly battle, because of its capabilities and skill. First its great health of 8, allows it to have a good resistance while the rest of my cards do their job, another very useful feature is its ability called "Void", which decreases the damage caused by magical attacks, this way I can also decrease these attacks in order to get more time for my cards in the baseline to damage my opponent. Finally, his 3 point melee attack is useful for destroying my opponent's tank.

Furious Chicken

My second card, which backs up my Animated Corpse, I imagine you are wondering how the Chiken being so weak would be a replacement tank, the reality is that this card serves me as a decoy, especially for my opponent's attacks with cards that have the ability to "Snipe", this would subtract a useful attack to my opponent which would give me much more time to destroy his team, in that sense this is the reason why he has this second position in my lineup. After all my strategy is based on time, and this is very important since every attack counts and my attacking power is in my last cards.

Skeleton Assassin

The third card in my lineup and a very useful one at that. Its main function and the idea of placing it in the third position, is because it has melee attack and its native skill "Sneak". It allows me to attack the last card my opponent has on the battlefield. In addition to this it has one more skill, this one is called "Poison" and it's one of my favorites, because when my monster reaches his monster he is poisoned, which causes him to take 2 points directly from his life each round, causing double the damage, besides having a very good speed, my strategy with this card is to eliminate his baseline.

Undead Priest

The next card in my lineup and a very useful one, as there are 2 characteristics that I believe can make a difference in a battle, these are speed and the amount of health on a card. With this monster I intend to decrease both, besides helping my tank in the frontal attack, it's not that it has much attack strength, it only has 1 magic attack point, however, my objective with this one is to decrease the speed of my opponent's cards and at the same time also his health, which would give me some advantage over my opponent, since his cards have more speed but not much life.

Haunted Spider

My fifth card, it's time to place my rank throwers, that thanks to one of the battle rules they can attack if they are in the first position, so it's good for me to use at least 2 of them in my battle. This monster is very useful, it has a very good attack of 2 rank points and an ability that I mentioned before that is incredibly good, which is "Poison", I also pretend with this card to help in the frontal attack supporting my "Corpse", but trying to poison its cards in order to cause double the damage.

Twisted Jester

One card that can never be missing from my lineups and strategies is this one, or at least I try to make it so. It is a very good card that helped me in countless battles as its skills and attacking power speak for themselves. My goal with this card in the last position is to make the most of your skills and protect my core team as well. His skill called "Dodge", means that my Jester will not be an easy target to reach since this skill increases the chances that my monster can dodge the attacks of my opponent's cards. In addition to this, with his skill "Snipe", I intend to destroy all his monsters that have range or magic attacks, leaving him alone with his tank. In spite of all this, my Jester was quickly defeated in battle, but he gave me enough time for my other cards to do their job, which was my main objective.

Pros of my Battle

My strategy worked very well despite going against one of the As I mentioned earlier, detailing my strategy in the lineup I used for my battle, my main goal was to get enough time for my "Skeleton Assassin, Undead Priest and my Haunted Spider" to do their jobs. This consisted of them weakening their baseline, while my other two cards supported my Animated Corpse in destroying their tank. It worked very well, as my Jester was a very good protector for my Spider and my tank supported him enough.

Cons of my Battle

Neither strategy is 100% perfect or effective, in a game like @splinterlands you must always be innovating and devising new ways to make the most of your card skills and in turn take advantage of the rules of battle. Based on this my strategy of course was not perfect and I was looking for the weaknesses of it, so be careful, because I will detail with which cards I would have failed my strategy and eventually lost.

If my opponent had used a formation with the Fire Splinter, using certain cards he would have surely lost.
Cerberus.pngCerberus With this tank card at level 6 at least, my opponent would have won, first with his Heal skill, allowed him to regenerate his health, and then he could have hit back with his second Retaliate skill.
Goblin Shaman 1.pngGlobin Shaman A very useful card, similar to my Undead Priest, with the same abilities having the same effect on my cards, although at certain levels, for example 6 to 7, it has more attack speed, so in that case its card would have fallen this would have been a good replacement tank, but its cerberus would no doubt survive the entire battle.
Creeping Ooze 1.pngCreeping Ooze A decoy card, which would have worked very well for him, since it would have given him time and also helped to slow down my attacks even more thanks to his "Slow" skill, also in the Globin Shaman.
Beetle Queen.pngBattle Queen Another very useful card in his formation, firstly his "Tank Heal" skill, would have given more resistance to his Cerberus, on the other hand with a 2 point magic attack and a very good speed would have supported his team a lot.
Fire Demon.pngFire Demon This would be the last card in his formation, in my opinion at level 4 or 5, despite my Skeleton Assassin, he would have helped the Cerberus to destroy my Corpse even faster, with his great attack power of 3 points and his ability of "Blast" was more than sure his victory over my formation.

Battles with this particular rule need a very good strategy, as the smaller monsters are the masters of the field. These should not be underestimated, clearly as I described in the "Cons", there are very powerful cards with low mana, which can easily beat the strongest and all because of its high cost of invocation. The only way is for the battle to be a large amount of mana and yet great care must be taken.

Thank you the @bdcommunity, @Reazuliqbal, Mod @Zaku & the honorable judge/our Night Elder, @azircon for presenting us such a nice contest.
