Cinnamon Roll Handmade Clay Keychain

Matcha strawberry donut (1).gif

Hello, how are you? What I miss most when I go to Baguio, especially SM, is the smell of fresh-baked cinnamon bread in the air, which makes me want to buy one.

I like the cinnamon bread with cream all over it, the usual one I tasted is the one with raisins, and just like that.

So today, to continue my food clay keychain never-ending series, I am going to make the cinnamon roll just one with cream on it.

Materials I Used:

  • Polymer Clay
  • Glass Sheet
  • Portable Weighing Scale
  • Gum Container
  • Tooth Brush
  • Dotting Tool
  • Soft Pastels
  • Brush
  • Eyepin
  • Acrylic Rolling Pin
  • Liquid Clay
  • Acrylic Rolling Pin
  • Liquid Clay
  • Needle Tools
  • Silicone Mat
  • Oven
  • UV Resin
  • Mask
  • Disposable Gloves
  • UV Lamp
  • Colored Sand
  • Keychain
  • Pliers

Craft Time!

First, I condition my clay, kneading it until soft. And then I weigh my clay just to make sure it is the size I wanted.

Then I shape it into a ball, and then I use an acrylic rolling pin and flatten it out like the one I did in the photo.

Using this clay cutter to cut the top and bottom, and keeping only the middle part.

And then to imitate the cinnamon filling inside of it, I use some brown soft pastel and then brush a generous amount on the clay using any brush.

And then I roll it into shape to shape it like a cinnamon roll.

15.JPG

To add texture, I use this old toothbrush. Then I pretty much add shades to the clay.

18.JPG

To add more texture to the body, I use this dotting tool to add more of it.

I added the eyepin just to the top of the clay.

Now it is ready to be baked, preheat the oven first and set the time and temperature according to what the packaging instructed.

24.JPG

25.JPG

To add the sugar cinnamon filling, I mix UV Resin, colored sand, and then some shades of earthy brown.

26.JPG

28.JPG

Using the needle tool, I apply it to the surface part.

30.JPG

31.JPG

Then I cure it under a UV Lamp until it is no longer sticky.

35.JPG

For the cream on the too I mix UV Resin and white soft pastel.

37.JPG

38.JPG

Then I apply it using the needle tool again.

39.JPG

40.JPG

Cure it under a UV Lamp.

41.JPG

43.JPG

To add the keychain, I put the jump ring with the keychain into the eyepin.

And then secure it using two pliers.
