Saludos, amigos de HIVE. Esta es mi cuarta entrada para el reto propuesto por la amiga @vaneaventuras de la comunidad @LovinHIVE. Este es una iniciativa muy estimulante porque nos permite reflexionar sobre los motivos que tenemos para agradecer la presencia de HIVE en nuestras vidas. En este cuarto día la agenda propuesta en la invitación indica expresar mi agradecimiento a HIVE, por potenciar mi creatividad.

Greetings, friends of HIVE. This is my fourth entry for the challenge proposed by my friend @vaneaventuras from the @LovinHIVE community. This is a very stimulating initiative because it allows us to reflect on the reasons we have to be grateful for the presence of HIVE in our lives. On this fourth day the agenda proposed in the invitation indicates my gratitude to HIVE for empowering my creativity.

Un mundo nuevo en la escritura

A new world in writing

Antes de estar en HIVE pasaba mis días dedicado a la lectura, había abandonado mi cátedra universitaria, mis hijos se habían marchado del país, y limitaciones económicas me impedían hacer lo que más me gusta, que es viajar. Así que la mayor parte de mi tiempo lo dedicaba a leer y releer aquellos libros que me han acompañado a lo largo de la vida.

Before being in HIVE I spent my days dedicated to reading, I had abandoned my university professorship, my children had left the country, and economic limitations prevented me from doing what I like best, which is to travel. So most of my time was spent reading and re-reading those books that have accompanied me throughout my life.

Cuando estaba en la Universidad siempre escribía algún ensayo para revistas académicas, pero al dejar de ir fui perdiendo los contactos, por lo que la escritura había caído en el abandono.

When I was in the University I always wrote some essay for academic magazines, but when I stopped I lost the contacts, so the writing had fallen in the abandonment.

Gracias a HIVE todo eso cambió. Una vez en la red social me vi obligado a retomar de nuevo ese lindo hábito de la escritura. Al principio me limitaba a lo que yo sabía hacer, que era componer textos en forma de ensayos y reflexiones, pero con el estímulo de mis amigos hivers me atreví a incursionar en otro tipo de escritura, y fue así como de pronto me vi escribiendo, poemas, relatos y todo tipo de textos. Estoy seguro que si no hubiese descubierto esta red social, todos esos escritos que he producido hubiesen permanecidos dormidos dentro de mí.

Thanks to HIVE all that changed. Once on the social network I was forced to take up again that nice habit of writing. At first I limited myself to what I knew how to do, which was to compose texts in the form of essays and reflections, but with the encouragement of my friends hivers I dared to venture into another type of writing, and that's how I suddenly found myself writing, poems, stories and all kinds of texts. I am sure that if I had not discovered this social network, all those writings I have produced would have remained dormant inside me.

Ampliar la mirada fotográfica

Siempre me ha gustado la fotografía, una herencia que debo a mi fallecido padre. En la fotografía he encontrado la manera de fijar la belleza de los diferentes sitios que he visitado. Debido a una cuestión de carácter mi inclinación es hacia la fotografía de naturaleza y paisaje, pero ese tipo de fotografía resulta muy costosa por la movilización y la estadía. Al dejar de viajar casi había cesado mi actividad fotográfica, no sentía motivación para continuar con la captura de imágenes.

I have always loved photography, an inheritance I owe to my late father. In photography I have found the way to fix the beauty of the different places I have visited. Due to a matter of character my inclination is towards nature and landscape photography, but that type of photography is very expensive because of the mobilization and the stay. When I stopped traveling I had almost ceased my photographic activity, I did not feel motivated to continue with image capture.

Con la llegada a HIVE revivió mi entusiasmo por la fotografía. La participación en los diferentes retos me motivó a ampliar la mirada fotográfica. Ahora no desaprovecho ninguna ocasión para hacer las tomas. Paso a paso he ido aprendiendo a encontrar motivos fotográficos en las cosas más sencillas. Esta nueva perspectiva ha sido una gran ventaja en estos tiempos de encierro. La verdad es que me siento muy alegre de poder tener esta oportunidad de seguir explorando la búsqueda de imágenes.

With the arrival at HIVE, my enthusiasm for photography was revived. The participation in the different challenges motivated me to broaden my photographic vision. Now I don't miss any opportunity to take pictures. Step by step I have learned to find photographic motifs in the simplest things. This new perspective has been a great advantage in these times of confinement. The truth is that I feel very happy to have this opportunity to continue exploring the search for images.

Mi abuelo es YouTuber

My grandfather is YouTuber

Otro asunto con el que no me había atrevido era al mundo del video. Aunque me gustaba, siempre me había parecido complicado e inaccesible. Un día hice contacto con hivers que montaban videos; ellos gentilmente me explicaron lo esencial para comenzar, me orientaron y me convencieron de que cualquiera podía hacerlo. Así fue como comencé a montar mis videos en el ecosistema, una actividad que me llena de mucho entusiasmo.

Another thing I hadn't dared to do was the world of video. Although I liked it, I had always found it complicated and inaccessible. One day, I made contact with some people who were editing videos; they kindly explained to me the basics to start with, guided me and convinced me that anyone could do it. That's how I started to mount my videos in the ecosystem, an activity that fills me with a lot of enthusiasm.

Mis nietas han sido una gran fuente de motivación para continuar con los videos. Me da mucha gracia cuando recibo en el cell algún mensaje de ellas con la expresión: “eeeesoooo my abuelo es YouTuber”; a ellas les parece bien chévere que su abuelo monte videos. He tratado de explicarles que no soy Youtuber porque mis videos no se alojan en YouTube, pero ellas no entienden de eso. Así que para ellas soy “YouTuber”, jajaja.

My granddaughters have been a great source of motivation to continue with the videos. It is very funny when I receive in my cell a message from them with the expression: "eeeesoooo my grandfather is YouTuber"; they think it is cool that their grandfather mounts videos. I've tried to explain to them that I'm not Youtuber because my videos aren't hosted on YouTube, but they don't understand that. So to them I'm "YouTuber", hahaha.
