Saludos a todos los miembros de la comunidad, ¿cómo están? Esta es la primera vez que publico aquí, ¿y qué mejor que hacerlo sobre este equipo que me hizo enamorarme del fútbol? He sido hincha del Manchester United desde hace unos cuantos años, tengo una pésima memoria para las fechas pero podría asegurar que tengo más de diez años mirándome cada partido y absorbiendo cada noticia. Para algunos esto sería poco tiempo, pero para una persona que no creció en un ambiente donde se tomara demasiado en cuenta a los deportes en general, el haber podido desarrollar una conexión al nivel de sufrir y llorar con el club es bastante.
Greetings to all members of the community, how are you? This is the first time I post here, and what better than to do it about this team that made me fall in love with soccer? I have been a Manchester United fan for a few years now, I have a lousy memory for dates but I could assure you that I have more than ten years watching every game and absorbing every news. El Manchester United y sus hinchas hemos pasado a través de momentos difíciles, teniendo en cuenta que la Champions League es, en mi opinión, la máxima competición a nivel europeo, quedarse sin la posibilidad de disputarse por tener ‘La Orejona’ siempre va a ser un golpe duro para cualquier club, pero muchísimo más a aquellos de los cuales se esperan la grandeza, como es este caso. Es indudable que todos esperan del equipo lo mejor de lo mejor por ser catalogado parte de los seis más grandes y poderosos de Inglaterra.
Manchester United and its fans have gone through difficult times, taking into account that the Champions League is, in my opinion, the highest competition at European level, being left without the possibility of disputing for having 'La Orejona' is always going to be a hard blow for any club, but much more to those from which greatness is expected, as in this case. Undoubtedly, everyone expects the best of the best from the team for being catalogued as one of the six biggest and most powerful in England.
No se puede negar que el rendimiento del club no estaba nada acorde a lo que representa tanto en la Premier League como en competiciones europeas, los días de gloria gracias a la Era Ferguron quedando atrás para darle paso al tiempo de oscuridad donde ‘El teatro de los sueños’ —Old Trafford— parecía ser más bien de las pesadillas. Sí, el equipo tocó fondo, pero ¿qué es lo que usualmente se dice? Una vez en el fondo lo que queda es subir… y vaya que el Manchester United ha sabido subir, pues esta temporada pese a no haber sido perfecta ha mostrado una mejoría considerable para lo que estaba haciéndose.

Puedo entender personalmente que el progreso no se mide en la cantidad de trofeos ganados nada más, existen otros factores a tener en consideración, pero ¿a quién no le gustan los trofeos? Hay una sensación de necesidad indudable sobre ganar trofeos, tanto por parte de los fanáticos como por parte del equipo, que sería como la consolidación de Ole Gunnar Solskjaer en su posición de entrenador. Esa hambre que se tiene podría llegar a ser determinante para ganar el trofeo de la Europa League con lo que se espera sea el inicio de una racha ganadora de más trofeos —por favor, Dios— de Los Diablos Rojos.
I can personally understand that progress is not measured in the number of trophies won alone, there are other factors to take into consideration, but who doesn't like trophies? There is an undoubted sense of need about winning trophies, both from the fans and from the team, that would be like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's consolidation in his position as coach. That hunger could prove decisive in winning the Europa League trophy with what is expected to be the start of a winning streak of more trophies -please God- for the Red Devils.
Tiene los recursos – It has the resources
Es bien sabido que el Manchester United cuenta con muchos jugadores de primera categoría, que además han demostrado una mejor compenetración y crecimiento personal en el terreno de juego. Eso en conjunto con los resultados que se han mostrado en los partidos de la competición los pone como principal favorito a ganar contra el Villareal. Las actuaciones de Bruno Fernandes, Edison Cavani y Paul Pogba a nivel de la Europa League al menos, sobre todo en los últimos partidos, han demostrado la letalidad que puede llegar a tener el equipo a pesar de que en algunos puntos la magia no se haga presente en el campo. De cualquier manera tengo plena confianza en ellos de que pueden ser imprescindibles para alcanzar la victoria.
It is well known that Manchester United has many top players, who have also shown a better understanding and personal growth on the pitch. That in conjunction with the results they have shown in competitive matches puts them as the main favorite to win against Villareal. Todos los jugadores han mostrado muy buenos momentos en lo que va de temporada —así como malos momentos— en donde destacaría la actuación de Luke Shaw y Aaron Wan-Bissaka además de los tres magníficos que ya mencioné, es evidentemente una opinión personal. El verdadero problema creo que siempre ha sido la inconsistencia de la que se ha hablado porque sí, pueden jugar muy bien, pero llegado al momento determinante donde se tienen que seguir tomando las decisiones correctas sale mal algo que nos llega muchas veces a costar el partido. Es por ello que para ganar esta competición el equipo tendrá que mantenerse firme y concentrado, no aflojar en ningún momento hasta que se determine el final del partido, un solo error en la defensa podría arruinar todo. Además, no desperdiciar las oportunidades como en muchas ocasiones, es tirar a la yugular sin contemplaciones para asegurar, esperando que el olfato de goleador de Edison Cavani se encuentre al máximo y complete con su poder definidor.
All the players have shown very good moments so far this season -as well as bad moments- where I would highlight the performance of Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in addition to the magnificent three I already mentioned, this is obviously a personal opinion. The real problem I think has always been the inconsistency that has been talked about because yes, they can play very well, but when it comes to the decisive moment where they have to keep making the right decisions, something goes wrong and many times it costs us the game. That is why to win this competition the team will have to stay firm and focused, not to slack off at any time until the end of the match is determined, a single mistake in defense could ruin everything. In addition, not to waste the opportunities as on many occasions, is to shoot for the jugular without contemplation to ensure, hoping that the scorer's nose of Edison Cavani is at its maximum and complete with his defining power.
Estoy deseando que el día llegue y suceda lo que los hinchas del Manchester United hemos estado esperando por tanto tiempo, pero sin importar todo lo que pueda suceder, mi corazón les seguirá perteneciendo. Es lo que tiene el amor por un club, sigue allí contra todo, haces tuyas sus alegrías pero también sus tristezas, como dicen coloquialmente, en las buenas y en las malas.
I can't wait for the day to come and for what we Manchester United fans have been waiting for so long to happen, but no matter what may happen, my heart will still belong to them. That's the thing about loving a club, you are still there against all odds, you make their joys yours but also their sorrows, as they say colloquially, through thick and thin.
