Photophile Photography Contest is now on!

I am pleased to announce the start of the PHOTOPHILE PHOTO CONTESTS! The contests aim to find for wonderful photographs Hive users have recently shared on their blogs and reward them by upvoting their posts and share post rewards with winning entries.

Contest mechanics:

  • There will be a specific theme for each contest. We will start with TRAVEL for now. A new contest for each theme will be posted after a week, unless otherwise specified. For this travel theme contest, since it is posted on a Thursday (New Zealand time), it will be "renewed" the following Thursday.
  • When a contest post is created, you post your photo entry as a comment on the contest post, a description of the photo, or a story behind the photo, and the actual link of your original post where the photo came from (see first comment on this post as a sample)

Eligibility:

  • You must own the entry photo
  • Your post must use the #photophile tag
  • While new and old posts are allowed, your post must be less than 7 days to be eligible for an upvote
  • Your entry photo must be largely related to the content of your post, if not its main/primary topic.
  • The participants must agree that their photo(s) can be used by @photophile for its posts (with attribution of course) to highlight the winners and further promote the contest.
  • A photo should not be re-used if it has been entered into a previous contest.

Schedule:

  • Every Monday, Macro photography
  • Every Thursday, photos related to TRAVEL
  • Every Saturday, photos related to SUNSET

Prizes:

Two winners will be chosen - main and the runner-up - for each contest. Each of them will be a beneficiary of the rewards of the next contest post, where, the winners will also be announced. Main winner will be at 30% beneficiary and the runner-up will be pegged at 15%. In the future, the prizes might be changed (more will be added like delegation, and/or Hive Engine tokens, etc).

Others

  • While reblogging and upvoting the contest post are not required, they are much appreciated

NOTE: This is NOT the contest post for the TRAVEL THURSDAY THEME, wait for it to be posted on Thursday. This is just an announcement post.

Hi po, sorry it is my first time to join this kind of contest (newbie here). Just a quick question po, Do I need to post my entry in my own profile/timeline first? Like a blog po muna? Then when the contest starts tmr, i will comment my entry here and then give the link (which will be coming from my personal timeline?) Tama po ba? Thank you so much po.

IMAGE: SUNSET
DESRIPTION: This picture was taken in the middle of Misibis Bay in Legaspi, Albay in Bicol, Region. We enjoyed the view of the sunset and the silhouette image of Mayon Volcano with clouds partly covering it. You can see the tip of Mt. Mayon above the clouds. The boat was a bit shaky because the waves are getting bigger. I was fortunate to capture it.
