Embracing the past

When someone asked me about my childhood. I stare blankly for a moment and this usually comes out into my mouth, "nothing special". Maybe because I had lots of bad and embarrassing memories that I want to forget. But, hey! That was my answer a few years ago.

But now that I feel God's presence more I started to love my childhood years and embrace it. Now, every time I start to reminisce about the past, I am totally blown out. Why? Because I am greatly blessed by God, for giving me challenges under my control, for letting me experience sufferings emotionally, physically, and mentally. I considered all of these as blessings. And I truly thank God for these gifts. It may sound absurd. But indeed, it is truly a blessing. At a young age, God taught me how to be strong. He let me realized that life is not all about the happy moments, it's about accepting it and being grateful no matter how small it may be.

For those who think that your childhood or your past is not good enough, it's now time to change your mentality. Try to reflect not by using your brain but by talking to your heart. See! Life is wonderful no matter what. Tell yourself you choose to be happy because you deserved it. Just accept everything God offers you wholeheartedly.

True, even in myself. I just realized it when I reached the age of 26. I think it's about understanding and accepting how life it should be. Maybe when you became matured you'll realize it.

It is true indeed.
We keep on asking about our worth,we only need to remember this, "God without man is still God, but man without God is nothing!"
We also keep on searching about our purpose, yet it is to follow HIM. With God, we can do everything.

This is really true! We should be grateful for both bad and good. After all, life is not about winning only, it's about losing the game and learn to fight back. I'm amazed by your story because I know you are brave even in your childhood.

This is what I always say and reiterating to my kids, family and friends: *"Always be grateful in good times and/or in bad times. Blessings are not just the good ones sometimes bad situations are being used for us to receive more and to learn more about life. God bless!
