Belated Happy Anniversary! | HIVE Rocks! | 2021
A LITTLE CONTEXT
I consider myself a beginner here in the HIVE ecosystem. Even with one year and three months of blockchain blogging experience under my belt, there's still much more that I need to learn.
Just as well. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I have the time to hang around a little longer in this space and to observe the developments currently in the works. If we weren't in such unusual situations, I would be out on projects and meetings and whatnot. But heck, the times really call for people to stay put.
BEGINNINGS
The platform was not the easiest place for me to upload blog posts when I began. There were a lot of things to consider. Why do we have so many keys/passwords? How does it work? Who pays for the rewards authors get?
Add in the factor that a newbie cannot really do much with such a small resource credit. Luckily for me, there were a few kind souls who educated me. The information needed by the newbies is there, but it just gets buried in tons of information. I got information overload after a few hours of reading posts on how this all works out. So, kudos to @romeskie and the gang at #hiveph community for giving their precious time to answer my noob questions.
FARMING
I grew up on a farm in the countryside. I took care of animals, planted fruits and veggies, harvested rice, and tended to our sari-sari store when I'm not at school or doing farm work. I love the farm. We get food and earn from excess produce. Much like the farm in my childhood memories, I have found another farm that puts food on the table. The #cubdefi platform does this also but in the digital world. The LeoFinance Team did a great job and they've only just begun.
WRITING
I already planned on blogging here on the platform for the long-term when I started. This has a lot of benefits: #nocensorship means that one's creative freedom can be enjoyed, #ownership means that no one can take away what you've built with blood, sweat, and tears, and a #decentralized platform means that interest groups/institutions cannot meddle in its affairs. There is value in a platform that gives you the freedom to blog.
It was a welcome surprise that there was a strong #healing, #plant-based, #mindfullife community in #naturalmedicine here. I'm sure that you can find your niche community on the platform or else make your own.
CONCLUSION
I said in a previous blog post that my intention when I began was just to find an outlet for creative expression and found a treasure trove of passive income opportunities here. A welcome surprise for sure. Now, I'm all in on #HIVE. Unless I really need the money, I won't be cashing out anytime soon.
Discovering #defi on the HIVE/LEO ecosystem is a big bonus. And it gave me the added confidence that I will achieve financial targets in #cryptocurrency and content creation.
For those exploring the idea of generating extra income in writing, this is the place for you. For those of you looking for a place to express your creativity and talent, this is the place for you, and for those looking for a great bunch of people to hang out with online, this is also the place for you.
HIVE was borne out of the desire for self-determination, freedom of expression, and community. That was one year ago this month. We have reached great milestones and financial freedom for some. But this is just the beginning; wait 'till you see what's next.
