Beer Tasting: Höss Bavarian Fine Beers

Hello beer tasters! 🍺 🍻 😎 🍻 🍺

I'm in the beer mood again. Today will be quite a strenuous beer tasting, I have one very nice package and I'll be happy to open it :)

A week ago, an epidemic was declared in our country again, and now we have been imprisoned in municipalities for a whole week. Only the grocery stores are open (today and tomorrow, however, everything is closed due to the holiday) and on my last purchase at the local Hofer, I discovered a package from the Höss brewery, Bavarian fine beer specialties.
There was no Oktoberfest, there are a lot of beers (and more and more drinkers) and they have to sell it. Great. This is my Oktoberfest.

Höss Weisser Hirsch

Brewed by Privatbrauerei Höss der Hirschbräu, Sonhofen, Bavaria, Germany. It's a Weissbier-Hefeweizen style, which means that's a wheat beer with high carbonation. Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.2% ABV. I’m not exactly a fan of wheat beer, but sometimes I can.

The beer is a dull yellow color like all wheat beers, as usual, the foam is solid. The first sip is immediately rich in the aroma of banana and cereal, no bitterness is felt. The flavors of lemon and wheat and sweet malt are also mixed. Eventually, all the flavors quickly disappear from the mouth. Okay, drinkable, and tasty.

Höss Dunkler Hirsch

The same brewery. It's a dark wheat beer and they say that's fine and spicy and bottle-fermented with fine yeast. Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.2% ABV. Nice.

Dark brown color, solid white head. The first sip, you can feel the smoke, a lot of taste of wheat, sweet malt, bananas, caramel. And the taste stays the same until the end when it disappears sometime after the last sip. Everything is balanced, no extremes, solid and drinkable. But it’s not an surplus to specifically remember it.

Now, if I were a pessimist I would say the package is half empty, but because I am an optimist I will say I have two more beers to try. I will try, it will be really hard for me. 😎

Adlerkönig Urtyp Hell

Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.7% ABV. The beer is Munich Helles (or Dortmunder Export) style, which means that's a classic German lager.

Clear golden color with small foam (probably because it's still quite chilled). Standard bitter taste at the beginning with aromas of herbs, grass, and hops. Malt is barely felt. In the end, only bitterness remains, as with any lager.

Drinkable beer, good, but nothing special. As I mentioned at the beginning, the standard German quality, you can’t miss it, but there’s no surplus. I probably won't remember it.

Allgäuer Hüttenbier

Another lager style beer. Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.2 % ABV.
They say that is brewed with an old recipe, 350 years old, tasty, and full-bodied. Nice. Even though I've tried three beers, I can't wait. 😎

The beer is a clear golden color, with solid and firm foam. In the first sip, you immediately feel the medium, not too strong bitterness of the hops, in the background the sweetness of the malt and the taste of hay. Very well balanced flavors. It feels like an ancient recipe with no special additives. Very good lager.

If I could get it alone, not in a package, it would land in my fridge. Definitely the best beer of all four offered by Höss Brewery.

Finally!
I tasted 4 beers, it was quite tiring but I survived. I drank two liters of the third most drunken liquid on earth ... hm ... I could taste another one ...

And next to that as I write this, I listen to garage rock, I don't know anything about the band (yet) except they're girls, but it's good.
