Beer Tasting: Dragon's Tail and Dragon's Eye

Hello beer tasters! 😎

How are you today? I'm fine and ready for the new beer adventures. Oh, must mention one really good news from here, yesterday, the government officially state that the #covid19 epidemic in Slovenia is over.
Borders are open, most shops and offices are open too, life is slowly going back to normal. But we still have to wear masks while shopping and practice social distancing.

And I got a call from the friend. "Hey, I have new beers to taste. Come to visit!"
Cool. Immediatelly 🍻 🍺 😎

Dragon's Tail

Both beers I have here are brewed by commercial brewery Pivovarna Union, Ljubljana, Slovenia, now part of Heineken group. Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.4% ABV, pale ale style.

Both beers have one such original design (which I don't really like), they are wrapped in printed paper and if you want a beer you have to tear it.

Clear golden color, with a small but firm foam. The first sip is at first slightly sweet and then more and more bitter. You can feel the malt, and the aromas of herbs and fruits. Eventually, after the last sip, the bitterness disappears. Not bad pale ale for the commercial brewery.

Dragon's Eye

Clear golden color with a little foam that stays for a long time. The bitterness of the hops is pronounced in the first sip, the malt and aromas of the herbs are felt in the background, but the bitterness prevails, even after the last sip.
Not a bad IPA, maybe a little too bitter for my taste.

Both beers are from Dragon’s selection season series. Both are good for me, but if I have to pick a favorite, it’s pale ale Dragon’s Tail.
It's, however, a success for a large commercial brewery to brew such a solid beers, I must admit.
