Moon Duo - Foam Brewers

Beer Review

Moon Duo is a 5.5% alcohol/volume Farmhouse Ale Saison brewed by Foam Brewers in Burlington, Vermont. Foam Brewers is a great beer operation that opened up in 2016 by a group of individuals with a shared passion for brewing, science, art, music, and culture. They quickly made a name for themselves in the craft beer scene. The brewery is located directly across from the beautiful Lake Champlain. They are named 'Foam Brewers' because foam is one of the most exciting parts of the beer that provides the drink with stability and complexity. Moon Duo is a blend of one and two year old sour farmhouse ales which are aged in Chardonnay Wine barrels with pink lemon zest.

The Bottle

Moon Duo is served in a glass bottle with a cork top. It has a nice rounded shape to the body of the bottle. The logo is pink with the words Moon Duo written in blue. Overall it's a classy farmhouse ale and best enjoyed for a special occasion. Bitcoin going to the moon is a good reason to enjoy a bottle of Moon Duo.

The Beer

As stated earlier, the Moon Duo is a blend of one and two year old sour farmhouse ales which were aged in Chardonnay Wine barrels with pink lemon zest. After the aging, it is bottle conditioned with Vermont wild flower honey. The delicious beer has flavors of citrus and lemon which blends with the oak and vanilla undertones. A subtle sweetness from the wildflower honey makes it a refreshing drink. At 5.5% alcohol by volume, it's easy to drink the full bottle. The beer has a nice crisp, clear orange color when pouring it into a glass. It formed a tiny little head of foam that dissipated quickly. Overall, it was refreshing and delicious specialty beer. I look forward to trying more from Foam Brewers in the future.

Man!

You had me at Vermont because of my love of those IPAs!

I love how innovative they have been with this one with the combinations, aging and use of oak. I would give this one a try on the merit of innovation alone.

I need to get me some Foam Brewers!
