A Very Special BeerSaturday Post - @article61's Homebrew Tutorial

Follow me on this 4-week journey to Stout heaven.

My lovely girlfriend purchased for me my very first homebrew kit and I thought it only right to document the process for all my #beersaturday friends to see. I made one mistake during the video editing, which was to show when I added the chocolate flavouring. This was done 75-mins into the 90-min boil. Other than that everything went to plan and I'm looking forward to brewing my next batch, which I think will be a nice IPA!

Hope you all enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it.

Very nice - I have been thinking about trying the brew in the bag method. I used to do full grain, but that is a process and takes an entire day (almost a pain). I like the idea of mash bag a lot

This was relatively simple and not a bad result really. I've looked into some brewing methods and it can get really complicated and expensive. Think I'll stick to home brewing for fun and the shops for my proper beer 🍻

This brew in a bag method isn’t too time consuming, a couple of hours then you’re just waiting around for the brew to do it’s thing. Worth doing just for the experience and satisfaction.
Thanks for dropping in 😃

Yeah if I’m going to do it I want to use a kettle and buy a small oak whiskey barrel to do some aging.

I’ve tried some barrel aged stouts and I really enjoyed them. In fact you’ve got me tempted to try that too 😀

I love the taste since I'm a whiskey bourbon kind of guy.

You will inspire others to do the same with that one and the world needs more Beer Makers! It is a noble thing!

Hi, it’s nice to hear from you. I hope you are doing ok?

Glad to hear that you enjoyed my video. This was a fun process and of course the end product is very satisfying. I’d love to try this on a more professional level but the costs can skyrocket. For now I’ll stick to it just being a hobby :)
