Curator Cat on Caturday: The Heatwave is Upon Us!
Greetings Felines and Hoomans of greater Hivelandia!
It's the weekend, and it's Caturday, woo-hoo! Time for all those cute cat and kitten pictures to come out and be shared... you know you want to!
Catching some partial sun in the stairwell... does this pose look natural?
Wow... It's HOT!
We're having a heatwave here in Western Washington... at least it's a "heatwave" by our local standards! People in other parts of the world are probably having a good laugh, right now!
The thing that makes it less than fun is the fact that the places we live in are designed to keep the heat in, rather than allow it to flow out, and air conditioning is pretty much not a thing here.
Of course, I am a cat so I like my warmth... however, because my black fur absorbs heat I only managed about 10 minutes in a sunny spot this morning before I needed to move to a cooler part of the house. Yikes!

Taking it Easy...
Not that I wouldn't normally spend the day napping... but today is definitely a day for taking it easy.
The Hoomans have put big box fans in a couple of the windows to keep the air circulating, so I am entertaining myself by batting at the curtains which are now flowing and flapping in the breeze.
I don't know what it is about Hoomans and their curtains... don't they understand that these are an open invitation for a cat to have playtime?
I'm just going to try to stay cool!
Crypto Concerns Continue
A lot of people are singing the blues because the crypto markets continue to be weak and unstable. But let's not forget that this is a volatile industry.
I don't have all that much at stake, and most of it (except for a tiny amount of Bitcoin) is related to Hive and its community tokens. I try to remind myself **that during times like these we actually get relatively more Hive tokens for our posts, which means building our balances faster, which will stand us in good stead when the markets go back up... as they undoubtedly will!
And with that thought, I'm going to invite you all to have a wonderful Caturday, and the remainder of your weekend!

Last, but certainly not least, a special shoutout to the recently formed Hive Pets Community which has become quite active and has quite a bit of cat content!
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!

What a beautiful cat !! it looks like mine !!! loves to play with the curtains! 😍😍😍 this morning he was more hyperactive than usual, he even took out and played with the balls that he hadn't even looked at for a long time, I guess it was because of the heat ha ha thanks for sharing the communities that are available for cat lovers !! Certainly in the virtual market you have to be very smart when using cryptocurrencies, I try not to use them like crazy, although sometimes the cats beat me and I end up giving up ha ha 🤣
Sometimes I look at furniture or curtains or something that is advertised and people are commenting "oh how pretty" and I just think, "cat toy," because it has tassels or something dangling like that. Cat people have a whole different perspective on such things! LOL

Yes!!!!! Completely agree!! Ikki filled the bathroom curtain with holes and wanted to do the same with the one we bought for the only window in the room, it is made of a very bad material because he just took a bite and already took a piece out of it ha ha luckily he has not tried to climb them , I guess it's because they are plastic 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

When it gets hot around here Maggie and Yuan seek out all the cool surfaces - linoleum, tile, their plastic carrier crates, the bathtub. Sometimes I even put ice packs on the floor to see if they want them, and Maggie usually avoids it but Yuan will lay on them. I hope y'all manage to stay cool over there! Unfortunately the no-a/c trick that works here in Denver doesn't work in such a humid place, and that's to make a swamp cooler by sticking a fan in front of wet fabric (so I will hang laundry to dry on the drying rack and then put the fan there). It really only helps if you live in a dry place like here, as I understand it.
