The Women's Building, in San Francisco [CCC's Street Art Contest #10]

avatar

Good afternoon, fellow Street Art Lovers!

This is my entry for the CCC's Street Art Contest #10, hosted by @digi-me.

This incredible mural was found at the walls of the Women's Building, in San Francisco, located at the intersection of the 18th Street and Lapidge Street.

This is a centre for woman to help them find job and not only that. They also provide assistance to any startups and new projects created by the women of the Bay Area, among other things. They have been around since the beginning of the 70's and they keep doing an amazing job for the community. 🤗

This group was started by women directed to women... and they do a lot of social service and run several non-profit programs. As such, they rely of the help of volunteers who offer their services and time for free. If you're from San Francisco and are interested in helping, you can apply and offer some of your free time through this Online Form.

The Women’s Building is the name of their organisation and the building was named after it, after they purchased it in the late 70's.

I hope you enjoyed this shot. 😎

Beautiful mural, especially its integration with architecture with the female head at the top.

Yeah, at the time I wasn't as interested in Street Art as I am now... or else I would have taken more than a shot! 😁

An extraordinary painting that shows that building, my friend @trincowski

It really is beautiful and well suited to the institution it houses.

It looks like a museum.

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful photograph.

I love how much you have traveled.

A hug

Thanks for your visit and lovely comment.

I love how much you have traveled.

Well, I love that too... and now I'm glad I did it whenever I could, instead of waiting for a point in life where I would be more confortable (financially speaking) like many of my friends were doing... now I bet they regret that decision very much. 🤭

I do remember seeing this building when I was there in 99.

I left my heart in San Fran- with San Fran...and have missed it drastically every day since leaving and I can't wait to go back there again one day. 😻😻😻

What an amazing city with such brilliant people!

Oh a few days- I was there for 10 months and that was a life time too short for such an amazing city!
