Congratulations @velinov86! You received the biggest smile and some love from TravelFeed! Keep up the amazing blog. 😍 Your post was also chosen as top pick of the day and is now featured on the TravelFeed.io front page.

We noticed that you edited your post through a different Hive frontend, so we were wondering if you experienced any issue posting through TravelFeed. If you have any suggestions for us, we would appreciate if you would let us know about them :)

Thanks for using TravelFeed!

Hi @travelfeed. Thank you so much for the support! I am facing many challenges when posting via Travelfeed.io. The captions do not work properly. They didn't work on travelfeed.io when I posted the blog.I was seeing only images from top to bottom on your site. Very strange. They worked on hive but I did not like their small font and also the first images lacked any captions. I was forced to go back to travelfeed.io and remove the captions. Later on, it was impossible to find my location on the built-in map in the site. So I went to @pinmapple to find my exact location and later edit my hive post. I think you should incorporate @pinmapple Google map. Travelfeed.io landed my default current location in travelfeed.io which I couldn't later edit and couldn't switch off before posting eigher. Also I have a signiture on Hive that I post in the end of my blog. I tried pasting it in travelfeed.io but it is is another language and gets messed up, so I had to edit that in Hive. You do have very cool features though. Like for example, more allowed tags, posting in more than one community, engine is easier to navigate, no size restrictions on photos but it really needs revamping by a person who knows what he is doing :)

Hi @velinov86, thanks for your feedback!

  • Thanks for reporting the issue with captions. We released some huge updates recently (https://travelfeed.io/@travelfeed/travelfeed-july-2020-updates) and in one of them the captions got lost accidentally.. We are releasing a patch today that will bring captions back for all posts.
  • The font size of a caption is the choice of each frontend, you get the same if you are using HTML/markdown captions when posting through Peakd or Hive.blog. If you don't want to use captions, you can just write regular paragraphs, as you did in this post.
  • You should find an explanation how to use our location tool in the editor: You can select a location by either using the search box or by dragging the marker. Your current location is only selected if you click the GPS icon. Can you please check if that works for you? If not, can you please let us know which browser and OS you are using so we can look into it?
  • If you select a location for a post on TravelFeed, it is automatically pinned to @pinmapple. There is no need to add their code snippet manually to your post since we do that for you automatically. They have technical issues once in a while though where the comment you receive from them is delayed, but this shouldn't be an issue from our side.
  • You can view your personal map on your TravelFeed profile: https://travelfeed.io/@velinov86 (click the map tab). This map is always up do date. The map of all posts under https://travelfeed.io/map is cached for performance reasons and is updated every few days, also it has filtering options that could cause your post not to show up. We are aware that this could be better and will eventually remove caching when we move to a more performant database that can handle the extra load of fetching 23k+ posts at once on every map request, but that is more expensive so we are pushing that up currently for when we launch our paid saas product so we can cover our expenses from our revenue - currently, we are paying for all expenses from our own pockets and are not selling any Hive to cover them, so we are trying to keep them low.
  • You should have received a tutorial for our editor when first opening the site. Here you can learn more about our editor: https://travelfeed.io/@travelfeed/how-to-use-the-easyeditor-step-by-step-guide While the editor of most Hive frontends is quite basic (like forums or reddit), our editor works similar to blogging platforms like Worpdress or Medium, so if you want to paste your HTML/markdown signature, you need to do that within a code block.

We hope that with these information on hand and our patch for the caption issue (thanks again!) TravelFeed becomes a pleasant platform for you to use. We can't wait for your next blogs!

And happy birthday :)
