The Tulip Garden Of Srinagar

(Edited)

The lockdown has made sure that we can't travel any place, not for another month at least. There is nothing more satisfying than exploring the magic of nature. However, there are also some man-made attractions that leave us overwhelmed. Today, I am gonna share a few pictures of a man-made attraction which is one of the most beautiful places to visit here.

I am talking about the Tulip Garden of Srinagar. Tulip Garden is located in the Zabarwan range and you can see Dal Lake from here. It was opened in 2007 to boost tourism in the valley. It used to welcome an average of 100K visitors per year and that number may increase to even a million if the situation in Kashmir gets better. There are over 1.5 million Tulip plants with 48 different species. The garden opens in the month of April as Tulips blossom during this past year.

I was with a friend when we last visited this place and it was way back in 2018. Srinagar is almost 40 miles from the place where I live, so, we left early in the morning and it took us almost 2 hours to reach there, the traffic here is horrendous. There is an entry fee of around 75 cents per person, we paid that and entered the garden.

It is spread over a huge area and all you can see is different colors of Tulips. It really felt good just to be there and watch those tulips. There were times when a slight gust of wind made those tulips bend in different directions and it was really pleasing to watch.

It is surrounded by mountains on one side and if you climb that, you can literally see whole Srinagar from there.
