This is Merica

I was late to hear the news of the current happenings in America as I am on that Japan time ( I was asleep while this was taking place. To be honest it didn't surprise me one bit, we all saw it coming the moment Trump said "stand down and stand by" a few months ago and we all know what his ego can bring.

I am not American so I have no real say, but I always wonder, who is the "good guy" and who is the "bad guy" in all this? A few months from now once Biden settles in, (IF he settles in) Americans will be bitching again.

The honest truth though, the first thing I thought when I heard the news was "BUY BITCOIN" 😄 And that was gonna be my Facebook post for the day " America is going to shits by the Bits" But I rather not waste time with that.

But you know what Jamaicans would say about this situation.

Puts the needle to the record.....

Japan Is Lock Down Desu

Yup Japan is going through another lockdown at the moment but only in Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa and Chiba.( The highly populated cities in the Kanto Region) The acting Prime minister is to make an official announcement today ( Thursday January 7th) and the lockdown is to take effect at midnight until February 7th. Bt luckliy it is not as sever as lockdowns around the world. You can read more about it here

This lockdown mess just never ends. But what really concerns me is Why doesn't Japan have their own vaccine ready? I mean, they are known to be the land of science and technology, right? So why are they buying from America? Well, I think its because of 1, politics and 2, Japan can't rush a process like that, there is too much at stake and the Japanese stick to procedures. But I feel its more politics. Interestingly I know a guy that works for the company that makes the fridges that will store the vaccine ( the one from moderna), you know, the one that has to be kept at minus degrees? I asked if the company was publicly listed so I could buy some stocks、 he said NOPE !😂

Many blame the government for the upsurge in the Rounie cases because of a travel campaign that had residents all over the island taking advantage of cheap rates for hotels and redeemable vouchers that could be used at restaurants. But at least they tried to save the economy. Its not easy running a country. We can always say they should have did this, they should have done that, but when all is done, we should have just planted our ass at home. ( I actually enjoyed my Go to Travel trip and meals😋)

I guess Japan and the entire world just has to take it one step at a time.

People in Japan must be tired to hear this one, but if you are not familiar, take a look. At first glance they seem Korean, but their manager actually strategized the group that way. This is probably the most popular song in Japan at the moment ( Niziu - step and a Step) after the Dolce & Gabbana song.

The Saddest news of the week

Butch Stewart, the most successful business man from Jamaica died this week in a Miami hospital. He was one of the greatest hoteliers in the world, building such brands as the Sandals Hotels. Sandals has properties in Jamaica, Antigua, The Bahamas, Barbados and St. Lucia. He pioneered the All inclusive sector in the Caribbean, boosting the region as an exotic getaway location.

Butch Stewart's first venture was Appliance Traders Limited a company he started in Kingston in 1968. They started out selling AC units, refrigerators and stoves, but today, it is also the leading automobile dealer in Jamaica. Butch Stewart also owns the Jamaican Observer, one of the leading newspapers in Jamaica and he played and integral role in bringing Caribbean airlines back on its feet before returning it to the government of Jamaica.

Here is a look at one of his hotels, the Sandal Royal Caribbean in Montego bay. To read more about Gordon Butch Stewart, read here.

Here is what Butch Stewart had to say about exceeding expectations.

“Exceeding expectations has been my philosophy since I was a very young man and it is more than just an idea, it is my way of life. Working hard and delivering more than the customer expects is the essence of delight. It ensures a happy client and fosters a culture within the company that is contagious.”

“Ultimately, that’s at the heart of innovation; always being on the search for new ways to exceed expectations, to delight. When you exceed the client’s expectations, they will return. And our guests do.”

Here is a video about sandals, the only
5 star all inclusive hotel in the world. Butch pioneered the all inclusive hotel industry to make it what is worldwide.
Walk good Mr Stewart.

Hi @dmilliz
You brought a pretty informative post.
The time differences between countries must always be learned, although you are certainly adapted to this after years in Japan.
What is happening in the United States I think is driving the crypto world, and that is good, at least for those of us who are already in this, to see what happens with this situation in the United States.
That song has a very nice sound and the singer is also very nice 😀
I didn't know they were also entering Japan at Lock Down again. That's too bad, but I think that all over the world there is still a lot of that, here in Colombia something similar is happening, Lock Down in several regions, we have to wait.
I think he is a great man to study his life and his great achievements.

Yes I really feel it is driving the prices of crypto and at the same time distracting many from what's going on in crypto if they weren't in it already.

The thing with japan is they can't force anyone to stay in doors as it's against the constitution, but if they ask , the people follow. Very interring the ways of the Japanese. Wow same situaition in your region. Let’s hope the spring and summer Well bring a renewing to humanity.

I really need to study Butch for sure, I’d love to become a business man as great as him.

I have heard many good things about Japan, I have a Columbian-Venezuelan friend who was in Japan for a year, learning the language, and he was delighted, only that he told me that if it is something expensive. I don't know how true it is, because in the end it's a matter of perspective.

"I really need to study Butch for sure, I’d love to become a business man as great as him."

I can follow you in this purpose he he
I think we all, in one way or another, want to have that level of success.

Yes sir, one thing I've been watching a lot on YouTube is real estate around the world. The real wealth is real estate. Let's get some houses and land.

Donald Glover's song is probably going to be one of those that are timeless and applicable at any point in time. And here I thought on the 5th of January that those Georgia phone calls were going to be Trumps last big thing he did, and then the 6th came.

Second and third waves are happening all around, even here we're probably going to get stricter rules. Let's just hope the vaccines solve things relatively quick. Wouldn't be surprised if there are some heavy politics involved. It's the same with stagnating aids and cancer research, so companies can sell more medicine that manages rather than cures, or cures slowly in the case of cancer.

Condolences on Gordon Butch Stewart. That Sandal Royal Caribbean is a damn beautiful hotel though.

Tru dat, it's a different type of song, very unique and sounds like nothing else.

That is true, if they can drag something out and milk they will, at the cost of your health.

Man , I gotta go to sandals one day, looking like heaven on earth, let's get some money and go live life!

Hi @dmilliz! how are you? It is good to know your point of view through this material that you have offered. Each country has its culture and autonomy for decision-making. Living in Japan, the USA or Jamaica should be something very pleasant, likewise I think it is important to be informed in the midst of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, you should know issues related to time zones, attention centers, business hours, in addition of other things related to economic activities, airports, etc.
I sure have learned a bit from the content of this post.
Well done!

Thanks man, it's good to give a little insight into the world around us through our eyes.

Interestingly I went to look at the main road in my town last night to see the vibe of the night life! Extremely packed , business as usual.

Waka bung mr. Stewart 🕊

I was also one who got the news about the storming of the capitol later than others. What I can tell is that the same people will go back to their homes and "hibernate" until there will again be another leader who speaks to their "ideals". Really appalling.
